Treat yourself to an elegant lunch in Paris with this 2-hour afternoon sightseeing cruise down the Seine River aboard a modern and luxury glass-canopy boat. The Bateaux Parisiens port is situated at feet of the Eiffel Tower, a good occasion to take a nice picture before or after the cruise. You will also admire views of the Eiffel Tower several times during your lunch cruise.

The Seine

Once you have admired the nice views of the Eiffel Tower from the Bateaux Parisiens boarding site, step aboard a modern and luxury glass canopy boat for your 2-hour lunch cruise. Make your way to your private table and enjoy your aperitif. Choose your dishes from the à-la-carte menu at the beginning of the cruise. All dishes are cooked on board and a vegetarian option is also available. Enjoy the lunch and the views of Paris’ major attractions lining the beautiful Seine, whose historic riverbanks are designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site, at the same time. Starting at the imposing Eiffel Tower, your route takes in iconic Notre Dame-Cathedral, the buzzing Latin Quarter and the Parisian Statue of Liberty, as well as world-famous museums such as the Musée d’Orsay and the Louvre, as you cruise to La Bibliothèque Nationale and back. Your cruise then returns to the quay near the Eiffel Tower.

Food far exceeded our expectations, we received a cocktail on boarding, a bottle of wine with lunch and unlimited bottled sparkling water. Service was very friendly and efficient. We were blessed with a gorgeous, warm sunny day which enhanced our experience even more. Highly recommended.

The crew, service and food were excellent! We were welcomed and seated once boarding began. The food was absolutely delicious and each course was wonderful. The duck was not only tasty, but also the most tender I have ever had. Our desserts were so light and luscious! Husband and I had the emon meringue tart and both sons had the chocolate tart. Excellent service and the views were wonderful as well.

Very good food but wine was wasted at every table. I would have preferred to pay less for the ticket and had wine on demand, instead of 2 full bottles of wine for 2 people. As we were leaving, I noticed the second bottle of wine on every table was opened with only 5-15% of the wine missing. If they offered "all you can drink" they would save themselves money and would be able to pass on those savings to the passengers. What happens to the nearly full bottles of wine? Does the staff recork it and take it home? So wasteful. Secondly, we would have enjoyed hearing about the beautiful landmarks that we passed. Not a full narration, just 60-90 seconds for each of the 7-8 landmarks shown on the map would have been enjoyable. Instead, we heard their music loop that wasn't even long enough to prevent duplicate songs within the 2.5 hour time on the boat. The food was good, the waitstaff was reasonably friendly, but it's definitely a "one and done" thing for us.

Bateaux Parisiens is a river cruise company that offers Seine cruises taking in the sights whilst being served food and drink. Located a short walk from the Eiffle Tower, you board at one of two locations (boarding location number on your ticket) where you then present your paper ticket at check in to receive another ticket which details the number of people and the type of service you have selected. Once you have your boarding ticket, you can then choose to weight in a holding area where there are seats and a toilet or leave and return just before boarding. You need to be checked in and present at least 45 minutes before setting sail so be mindful to give yourself plenty of time to get there. The boat consists of a covered dining area thay is split into sections and depending upon the type of ticket you have will depend on whether you sit centrally inside the boat or by the window which is what we opted for. The different types of ticket also determine what food and drink you get, whether or not it is three or four courses (the extra course is a cheese one). We opted for a four course meal and I was incredibly impressed. Once seated, your server will come and ask you for your menu choices to be served as the boat sets sail. I went for the chicken pate to start with a beef main and a noisette for dessert. My partner had foi gras, the beef and a fruit dessert. We were served a glass of Kir as the boat set sail and the first course was served about ten minutes after sailing with the main being served about halfway through the two hour journey. The cheese course and dessert are served as the boat is on its return leg followed up by coffee. White wine is served with the first course and red with the main. Our server was amazing and went from table to table speaking different languages and providing facts about the sites as we passed them. I tipped him on exiting because he really did look after us all. The cruise takes you along the Seine passed some of the iconic sites of Paris as music gently plays and you enjoy your food. There is an onboard photographer who comes to take your photos for you to review and buy if you choose. We bought one for 20 Euros. I had never done a river cruise before so I was not sure what to expect but for around £70 per person I definitely thought it was worth it. The food was outstanding, the service excellent and the views were iconic. It is a great way of having a nice meal, in the dry whilst also being able to see the sights of Paris. My husband and I absolutely loved this and was so glad we did it as part of our trip.
