Cruise into the magical Cataract Gorge and through Launceston's riverfront precinct. Head north past Tamar Island, historical buildings; churches, pubs and significant homesteads. Sample the rich diversity of life as we cruise past quaint riverfront communities, vineyards and farms, to the notable Batman Bridge. The Tamar Valley is steeped with romance and studded with bushrangers, explorers and tales of gold diggers. Australia's longest navigable estuarine river has many natural coves and protected inlets provide sanctuary for thousands of native water birds which can only be seen on the river.

Tamar River Cruises
This is a 4 hour cruise departing at 10.00am on a Monday Wednesday and Saturday. Operates from September 1 thru to May 31 on the all weather vessel, the Tamar Odyssey. Included in the cruise is morning tea (Muffins Fruit Cake and Sweet biscuits), light lunch, Tasmanian cheese and fruit platter, small Tasmanian beer and wine tasting, unlimited tea and coffee and commentary throughout the cruise. (Please advise of any special dietary requirements at time of booking) Guests need to arrive at the Home Point Cruise terminal by 9.30am for a 9.45am boarding. This cruise is wheelchair accessible. This cruise includes sailing into the magical Cataract Gorge.

5.00We had a wonderful time on the Batman Bridge 4 Hour Luncheon Cruise, including sailing into the beautiful Cataract Gorge. It was such a relaxing day on the water and a perfect way to see the scenery from a different perspective. The captain’s commentary was informative and entertaining, adding so much to the experience. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it — we certainly didn’t leave hungry! Highly recommended for anyone wanting a laid-back and enjoyable cruise.

5.00Great commentary all the way. Food was plentiful and tasty. Cruised 40 kilometres down Australia’s longest navigable estuary and experienced the natural beauty and magic of Launceston’s famous Tamar Valley and the Cataract Gorge.
Tamer River Cruiser is one of the experience you should not missed in Tasmania!

5.00The promised morning tea and light lunch were really good and generous. Was expecting a few iced vovos and arrowroot bickies, limp lettuce sandwiches etc but got generous muffins fresh baked, fruit cake, and generous bread rolls with salad. And different fillings. Some veg noted for those who preordered. Fruit and different local cheeses, brie orangey sharp cheddar a soft fruit! Cheese and straw S, pineapple, kiwi, grapes, melon etc. Enough for all and some left over. The wine/beer tasting was hohum, 2 whites a bland sof red and a Tassie beer. Ok but why not a white a Pinot and a Shiraz or cab Dav. The cruise and eg cataract gorge plus commentary were great. 4 hours was enough. Recommended

5.00Our 4 hr morning cruise was canceled and a 2 and a half hour cruise was substituted. According to the Tamar cruise company they have a maintainance issues that needs to be done. The office just refunded me some money before we boarded. The staff and crew's are very polite and professional. We thoroughly enjoyed the cruise experience. The cruise started on time and we had a very good commentary. The afternoon tea was sufficient. The food was excellent Lisa looked after us very well. We recommend this cruise to all to experience.

5.00We thoroughly enjoyed our time on this river cruise, seeing the sights and learning some interesting facts and insights into the river and surrounds, the Captain and crew were very helpful and always welcoming, there was more than enough to eat from muffins for morning tea to Focaccia sandwiches for lunch followed be a cheese and fruit platter after, there was even a mini wine tasting, tea and coffee was included throughout and cold drinks and alcoholic were available as an extra, we would thoroughly recommend this river cruise.
