Reversing Falls Rapids
A unique phenomenon created by the collision of the Bay of Fundy and the Saint John River. At low tide the river empties into the bay causing a series of rapids and whirlpools. As tides rise they slow the river current for a brief period called slack tide. The Bay's tides continue to rise, gradually reversing the flow of the river; rapids form again, peaking at high tide. A 8.5-metre (28-foot) tide cycle is roughly 12.5 hours.
Carleton Martello Tower
Carleton Martello Tower, located in Saint John, New Brunswick, is a National Historic Site with a rich history dating back to the War of 1812. Built between 1813 and 1815, this tower played a crucial role in the defense of Saint John during various conflicts. 5.00We were a very small group of 5 people. We had a general itinerary that was flexible according to where the group wanted to spend time. One of the primary highlights we made sure to see were two visits a few hours between of Reversing Falls to see the change in the water due to the tide. Also, we visit the caves at St. Martin's. They have a seafood shack there were I had the freshest haddock fish and chips.

3.00The good part was visiting the reversing falls at two different times and seeing the flow going in different directions. Amazing! The drive to the caves was bland but the caves were nice. Fortunately I had proper shoes to cross the creek to get to the caves. The tide needs to be halfway out or more to access the caves, and water shoes are recommended at the site. Due to the hour long bus ride, this is not a ride for small children (motion sickness alert). Take a snack as the food wait at the caves is long.

1.00Definitely not a worry free shore excursion..pickup at cruise port scheduled for 1 but tour left at 12:30 PM ..Driver returned after my call and wanted my wife and I to sit in the 3rd row seats of an SUV..no way for 4-5 hour tour since I am 6’2’…driver requested a previous bus tour wait 15 minutes until he could drop us off..30 plus bus passengers not happy with delay…bus tour guide was a nice older woman but added little in terms of comment ..bus driver stopped to see a lighthouse and covered bridge and forgot to tell the passengers he was parking the bus a quarter of a mile down the road.. we finally found the bus after searching.. since the tour was running late the tour guide and bus driver we’re going to skip the final stop at the reversing Falls but passengers rebelled so they decided to only stop for 10 minutes at the destination, which was the highlight of the tour

5.00Our driver Henry was really great! He was knowledgeable about the area and very accommodating. I would recommend this tour to anyone, in fact I did already!

2.00Bus driver drove too fast around curves and we felt unsafe. Tour guide was very nice but wasn't well prepared. Bay of Fundy stop was so crowded we were unable to get lunch.

1.00This was a very expensive taxi ride essentially. We were expecting to learn about this beautiful land but a family member and Google gave us more information than Abdul, our guide. Definitely not worth it. Walk around town, eat some lobster, and thank us for steering you in another direction! Disappointed.
