BE A Local it’s a walking tour focus on showing, and teaching about unique and quirky, aspects of La Paz, and on thrusdays and sundays el Alto City. Teaching you us much as we can from a local’s perspective, and taking you to the unseen routes and alleyways of this two high metropolis.

Be a local takes you through the city of La Paz, exploring paths where not many tourists go and see. Extended Tour on Thursdays and Sundays includes: Teleférico, flea market and Cholitas Wrestling show

Altitude organised a private walking tour for us with Sarah (who was recommended on a Facebook site) and it was really a very special experience for us. We really loved Sarah - she was a gorgeous person and very knowledgeable. It was the one on one chats that we enjoyed the most - hearing about life in Bolivia especially for a women (we were a group of ladies). Can’t rate her highly enough!!

This tour was the perfect first day activity in La Paz to get oriented. Sarah was our guide and she spoke English very well (I mention this as she has only been doing the tour a few months and asked us for feedback on her English). She shared good information (right amount and not too much) on the history, culture, and beliefs. As it was our first day in La Paz, we were still adjusting to the altitude and Sarah was very patient and paced the tour at a nice and slow level for us. She took great photos of us at various stops. Would highly recommend booking this tour.

The walking Tour with Charlie was very informative. Charlie also presented recent history, which was what we were most interested in. His English was excellent.

Sarah was an incredibly knowledgeable guide. She led us from Plaza Murillo to the witches’ market to San Pedro Prison, explaining everything from current political situations to spiritual practices, Bolivian economics, education, and social practices. Sarah answered all our questions thoughtfully, and she also has a great sense of humor.

A fantastic tour, very informative and entertaining. We went all around La Paz in two hours. Sarah was brilliant and I would recommend this tour.

Charlie was our guide for the walking tour. He was polite, engaging, observant, and above all very knowledgeable. We had a comprehensive overview of La Paz in about 3 hours that left us wanting to learn more. Charlie was passionate about the indigenous culture and traditions and took the time to explain many of the rituals and practices during our walk through the Witches Market.

Charlie did a great job showing us around La Paz! I felt like I learned a lot of interesting things about the culture as well as fun facts. He was also super considerate of my mom who was having trouble keeping up. The inclines at this altitude were tough.
