I lived a unique experience sailing the mythical Beagle Canal on an excursion that combines unforgettable landscapes and emblematic fauna of the region. During the tour we will visit Bird Island, home to numerous species of seabirds; the Isle of Wolves, where we will observe sea lions in their natural habitat; and the iconic Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse.
The highlight of the experience will be the landing on Martillo Island, where you will have the opportunity to take a guided walk among Papuan penguins in their natural environment. For approximately 30 minutes, you will be able to observe them very closely, know their behavior and enjoy a truly unique experience on this sub-Antarctic island.
This activity allows a direct and respectful connection with the fauna, becoming an incomparable way to live the nature of Tierra del Fuego.
Suitable for all physical fitness levels
Importantly, the colony we will see is Papua Penguins, which live all year round on Hammer Island. They are the third largest after the Emperor and the King. At the moment there are 68 registered pairs of penguins. While their presence is stable, it is important to note that the visit is in their natural habitat, so the amount we can see in each landing may vary as they are wild animals. Yes we will see them and we can enjoy a unique winter experience on this small subantarctic island
Validity of the tour: from July 1 to September 15.

Canal Beagle
We depart from the local port towards Isla Alicia, where we will observe a colony of one-haired sea lions. Then we head towards Isla de los Pájaros, where colonies of royal and imperial cormorants inhabit next to their nests, being able to sight their chicks from spring to autumn. Once again we head east to another small island where, depending on the time of year, there are fur seals. Very close is the Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse, an authentic symbol of the city of Ushuaia, built in 1919. From there we can see the island of rocky cormorants.

Excellent day! This excursion leaves from Ushuaia port and returns about 6-7 hr later. The boat holds about 30 passengers. It was very clean and nice toilets on board. The wildlife viewing is good at the lighthouse. But the most exciting part is walking w the penguins. The crew and guide was excellent and it was fully bilingual Spanish and English.
