Walk behind the ropes through the baroque halls of one of the most impressive libraries in the world. Your private group accompanied by a historian guide will have access to the otherwise inaccessible parts of this unique library. Witness the collection and the environment of the age of enlightenment interpreted by monastic frescoes with commentary by your guide.

See the Baroque Strahov Monastery of The Royal Canonry of Premonstratensians, one of the oldest of this order in the world, founded in 1143. First documentation of beer brewing comes from the beginning of the 14th century. Just beyond Strahov, located on the hill over the Prague Castle, are breathtaking views of the city. The Baroque Strahov Library contains book collections numbering approximately 200,000 volumes, we will walk behind the ropes to have an intimate encounter with the library decorations (entrance at own expense 400 CZK appr. $18 ).

5.00Beer and Baroque tour with super impressive PhD art historian and beer impassionata Katarina. Visited 2 architecturally impressive millenia old abbeys with centuries old brewing stories and contemporary breweries. Plus a mind-blowing gorgeous library with editions dating back to 9th century. Fascinating - and tasty.

5.00Highly recommend this tour and Insight Cities. Vadim was a fantastic guide - interesting, personable and knowledgeable. The libraries were stunning and as a private tour, it was lovely to get that space and peace. Beer was great too! Enjoyed this one so much, booked other Insight Cities tours in Vienna and Budapest. Bonita was the so incredibly helpful in organising these.

5.00One of my favorite tours of Prague. It’s a great way to spend three hours seeing amazing sites and having fun with a local. Matous was great and we were able to sample the local cuisine. The library I cannot say enough about it and is a must for anyone visiting Prague. Loved the low key vibe and beer

5.00We had a wonderful tour with Vladim. I would highly recommend the Monastery and Brewery tour. We learned so much and having a private tour guide at the Monastery is the way to go. We also enjoyed the brewery’s we went to!

5.00I was very happy to order a beer and monastery tour led by Vadim, who was funny and friendly, like an old friend taking us on a tour, and whose frescoes became very interesting and alive in Vadim's lectures. Almost a month after we left Prague, we often reminisce about the knowledge Vadim shared with us and the happy chatter. It's worth recommending to everyone, especially those interested in European history, that Vadim is a treasure to not miss.
