  I had an epic surfing lesson with Jake about a week ago. After years of trying to learn how to surf (I'm in my 60s), and taking lessons from at least four surf instructors, I was beginning to think that surfing was a dream of mine that was just not going to come true. I decided to give it one last chance, as Jake was highly recommended as an excellent nature/surf/rapids guide (I live in Costa Rica and got the inside scoop on instructors). In short, it was the best surf day I ever had in my life. I repeatedly caught waves one after the other. More importantly, Jake explained to me how to read the surf forecasts and what they meant for me as a beginner surfer. He helped me understand the ocean, what to look for, what types of waves to catch, how to react in various dangerous conditions, how to be safe in the water for both you and others. The breadth and depth of Jake's instruction was world class. I intend to continue working with Jake to improve my surfing, and since I trust him so much, I think I might try running the rapids with him one of these days:) My highest recommendation.

  Alex and Josue had us middle-aged newbie surfers up and riding within minutes of getting on the water. They spent time with us on the beach beforehand explaining currents and how to read the water, then broke down the steps to go from lying on the board to a standing position and gave us a chance to practice that on the sand. Their in-water coaching was superb too, helping us better understand the timing of catching a wave. These guys were great at sharing their love of the sport in a safe, fun, and effective way.

  Alex and Josue were amazing instructors who had a bunch of baby boomers standing up on boards in about an hour. Their professionalism and learning progression were outstanding.

  Alex & Jose were excellent instructors, especially for a new person over the age of 60 surfing for the first time. I had a blast and felt very confident about trying this new sport after the great detailed instructions I received. The instructors explained the safety aspects of surfing, how to handle ocean currents, rip tides and board control. Explained, demonstrated and had our group practice the basics of standing on the surface board on land before trying in the ocean. They were right there in the water teaching and helping me learn. The coaching was so helpful. Plus they were both extremely nice people to work with. Their English was very good. Communication was extremely easy with them both. I highly recommend booking a surf lesson with this company.

  Great surf lessons with Alex and Josue! Learned some really useful tips and got a bunch of good rides in easy safe surf. The beach is perfect for intro surfing and up to more advanced as you progress

  10/10 experience I came to Costa rica on a study abroad actually and we came to Dominical Beach for one of the days to have "beach time" and I saw the surf lessons board and I just had to go I walked in Kendal greeting me I told him that I'm only available from 9 to 11 cuz after that I have to go back I can't pay right now (I didn't bring my wallet I just went for inquiry ) and he was so nice and a problem solver he gave me their business number he talked to his boss got back to him and just like that I was ready to sruf the next morning. The next day I went for my first ever surf lessons and met angle my instructor and Jeudy, the owner, he processes my payment the morning off !! Which was so accompanying of them (the reason I did pay the day be4 was cuz I came to the area around 4 and the places closes at 5) he infact also talked to my prof to give him reassurance that I will be safe and there is nothing to worry about (I was the only person in the class and a girl but I trusted them and so did my professor ) and the lessons itself was with angle he was the most patient, and encouraging instructor. I could really tell he knows what he is doing because the feedback he gave me helped me stand and surf. This one example was I kept falling frontwards and didn't understand why so he told me its cuz I'm looking at the nose of the board try to pick a tree in the front and look at that and just like that I was able to surf 2 waves back to back !! And after that feedback I gained confidence and he was also clap for me when I did good 😄 which was so cute !! He was a really respectful and I felt safe being there. 10/10 recommended ❤️ I left super happy !!

  Today a friend and I had our first surf class with Jeudy and Josue and it was incredible! They both highly value the safety of their clients, they are very clear when explaining everything related to the sea and surfing, and they are very cool. We had a lot of fun and they also took very nice photos of us that will be a great memory of this experience. I advise having classes with them

  Really cool and well organized. The only downside is the actual course is held in Dominicalito and there are lots of rocks in the water at the beach over there. But the waves are perfect for beginners. Angel and Sabina were the best!

  I can’t say enough good things about these guys. Friendly doesn’t begin to describe them. It was a small group- 6 of us. The instructions on the beach to start were perfect for a newbie and they got us in the water as quickly as possible. It was a 1/1 or 1/2 instructor/student ratio in the water except when they saw suspicious activity by cars. Took less than 5 minutes while a few them ran out of the water to confront some guys trying to get into parked cars. They apologized profusely for leaving but I appreciated that they wanted to make sure the location they bring tourists stays safe. I was paired with Jody and he was amazing. Wear a lot of sunscreen especially on your face and I recommend a rash guard. Bring a reusable water bottle. I loved it!

  We did a beginner surf lesson for our 5 1/2 year old who had never tried surfing before. We had 2 amazing instructors who made him feel safe and confident and had him standing on the board within the first 15 minutes of his lesson. They paid close attention to him the whole time and made sure he was having fun and learning as well. We will definitely be back and highly recommend them!
