5.00This food tour has been my most favourite part of beijing so far. We walked into restaurants that I would never have even noticed if not for Haitao guiding us. At first coming to beijing I worried the only food I could eat was the strange balls or hot dog on a stick, or the squid head on a stick, thanks to this food tour i now know otherwise. I was so full and enjoyed so much tasty food! Haitao also told us some history of the area, the buildings and the food we were presented with. Going on the food tour with haitao was like hanging out with a friend id known a long time.

5.00The food was so good!!! We went down quiet alleys, and it was genuinely a great time. A couple food tours I've been on in the past have clearly been very "meh" food, but not this one! I feel like we got the real deal and I was not disappointed!! ❤️ Our guide, Uyi, was excellent!

5.00We had a great time visiting a variety of Beijing style restaurants in spots we would never have explored as foreigners. Our guide Winnie was fantastic and made us feel at home whilst we enjoyed the delicious meals. Would definitely recommend 😊

5.00This was a great food tour that combined great local food, drink and history. Haitao took us to restaurants that as a non-Chinese tourist I probably wouldn’t have found. It was a great experience that I’d definitely recommend!

5.00It was a great evening food tour with Winnie, who introduced us to delicious food at four incredible local places in Beijing. What we tried was authentic, tasty, and so filling that I could barely move afterwards... :) We also received small gifts. Definitely, the tour with The Lost Plate company is highly recommended when in Beijing!

5.00I had the pleasure to be led around by Janice, who not only knows her stuff, but is a keen foodie herself, just like me. Having lived in Beijing for 20 years now, and married to a chef, she is in a position to draw comparisons between the food in the north of China and in the south, where she's originally from, which I found very interesting. When we talk in the West about Chinese food, we tend to forget how huge the country is, and how much climate and history determine the ingredients used and the tastes of a people. Concerning the tour per se, I liked how very different the four restaurants were from one another, in the food served, of course, but in the ambience as well. Another plus of the guided tour is that you are being led through hutong districts (old alleyways) at night, where most foreigners wouldn't venture on their own. The areas visited by the tour are all entirely safe, but having a guide with you makes you relax more. I would certainly recommend this tour to everyone. Enjoy!

5.00Our guide Ernstina was enthusiastic, sweet and very knowledgeable. Not only did she bring us to some restaurants off the beaten track that were super delicious but she was also able to share stories and answer lots of questions we had. As a picky eater I was a bit apprehensive about the tour but with Ernstina’s suggestions and encouragement I gave everything a go and am so glad I did. I particularly loved the door nail meat buns. We ate a lot and learnt a lot. We throughly enjoyed our tour and it was one of the highlights of Beijing.
