  We had a fantastic tour with Mark. He was so considerate, informative and interesting. The tour was perfectly paced and we had the opportunity to get out and take photos. Highly recommended!

  This was an excellent tour to give a history of Ireland/Northern Ireland and The Troubles. Our guide Mark was great and really balanced and informative, sharing personal stories as well. Even my daughter who has no interest in history found the tour to be very interesting. Recommend this as an absolute must for anyone wanting to understand Northern Ireland.

  Beats the Bus Tour Hands Down – A Must-Do in Belfast This tour was highly informative, engaging, and genuinely emotionally impactful. Our guide, Eughan, explained Belfast’s complex history, murals, peace walls, and the legacy of The Troubles in a personal and very accessible way. He was incredibly knowledgeable and personable, and handled sensitive topics with real balance and care, which made the history both understandable and meaningful. What really set this tour apart was the personal insight. Our guide has lived through Belfast’s history and shared first-hand experiences and context that you simply wouldn’t get from a standard tour. This wasn’t just sightseeing — it was a narrative journey that brought the city to life and offered perspectives from different communities in a thoughtful, respectful way. We honestly consider this one of the best guided tours we’ve ever been on and an absolute must-do for anyone visiting Belfast. It was without doubt the highlight of our trip. At £140 for four people for nearly two hours, we felt the price was very reasonable. This is a truly personal experience, not a generic “hop-on, hop-off” bus tour where you never connect with the narrator. Bottom line: we rated this experience very highly. If you’re interested in Belfast’s history and political murals, this tour is eye-opening, engaging, and unforgettable. Highly recommended.

  Just finished our tour now, he James (Jim) as our driver/ guide. He was outstanding in both his knowledge and delivery of information. A very friendly gentleman and very easy to talk to. The tour itself is highly recommended, the highlight of our trip, surpassing our tour of the titanic museum. The stories you hear and slightly harrowing, but he delivered true insight into political goings on of Ireland over the past hundred or so years. I found NI black taxi tours to be the most reasonably priced at £50 for 2. And I'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting belfast as an unmissable part of your exploration. Thank you Jim!   Our driver Mark kindly waited for us, as we were running late due to a late ferry departure. Everything about this tour was fantastic. As mentioned, Mark is a kind man and quality driver who took us to historic places during the Troubles. I had not realized the complexity of what was happening during these times, so while we visually saw the places, Mark was able to add context to everything we saw. As a very cool happenstance, we passed his daughter walking their dog mid way through the tour - a testament to his experience in Belfast. Finally, we were dropped off in downtown Belfast as requested to allow us time to walk around before the shops closed.
