5.00I did the Peace Wall political tour in Belfast with Jimmy and it was honestly one of the most powerful experiences of my trip. Jimmy was incredibly knowledgeable, but what made the tour stand out was how personal and balanced it felt. He didn’t just give dates and facts — he brought the history of the Troubles to life in a way that felt human, complex and deeply moving. You could tell this wasn’t just information to him, it was lived experience and community memory. Standing at the Peace Wall and hearing the stories behind the murals gave me a much deeper understanding of Belfast’s past and present. The tour never felt sensationalised or one-sided. It was thoughtful, respectful and emotionally intelligent. If you’re visiting Belfast and want to understand the city beyond the surface, I can’t recommend this tour highly enough.
