Belgian wines is a booming and vibrant industry, yet still very small. Even in Belgium, it's hard to get hold of the wines as they come from many tiny estates scattered across the country and sold mostly in restaurants.

Thanks to my background in the wine industry with sommelier courses and a wine master's degree in Bordeaux I've been able to made a selection of great tasting wines that also highlight the various aspects of Belgian winemaking. So in 1.5 hours you will get a full fledged immersion, an exclusive experience and special memories.

Moreover, the experience takes place at a unique location: my penthouse is situated in one of the cosiest neighbourhoods of Gent, at a 10min walk from the city centre. The whole béguinage area is on the UNESCO heritage site list, and the house I live in was built in 1664. Outside it looks like hundreds of years ago, while inside it's been recently renovated without losing its historical veneer. It's lovely and spacious and waiting for you!

Together we will discover the world of Belgian wines and its exciting story. I will host you at my home inside a 1664 historical house which is part of a UNESCO heritage site (béguinage). During the tasting we will learn some surprising facts about the history of Belgian wine making and the driving forces behind its ongoing Renaissance. You will also find out about the 5(+2) recognized appellations and their typicities, and of course we will experience the wines through tasting! There will be 5 wines to discover: a sparkling made according to méthode champenoise, 2 whites and 2 reds. By tasting the wines you will get to know the Belgian style and how famous international as well as typical local varieties express themselves. I will guide you through the professional tasting steps, with the help of supporting hand outs that you will be able to take home with you. Last but not least, we will offer a selection of starters, all typical Belgian foods carefully selected to create winning pairings with the wines.

Best ever quality Belgium wines tasting. Our first time visiting Belgium with my 36 year old daughter. It was fantastic illustrations and learning the aroma of each wine. Yulia was fantastic host, great pairing food with our wines. You must try this wine tasting experience in this beautiful historic home, very very beautiful and the atmosphere was just perfect for the Holidays Celebration. Yulia is very knowledgeable about wines, she took her time for us to ask questions , very peaceful home, you must see this Historic home!! Thank you so much Yulia for kindness and great quality wines and other treats!

Apart from the lovely and welcoming house, Yulia provides a very detailed tasting experience and introduction into Belgian wines. She and her husband also make a very nice pairing with local tiny bites which greatly enhance the experience. Looking for a fun and educational afternoon, this experience is definitely worth considering!

Our son and his wife offered my wife and me a surprise wine tasting with Yulia and Fabian. And what a wonderful surprise it turned out to be! We had no idea where we were going or why, we just had the address. It's a great surprise to offer someone, or to experience yourself! Although fairly knowledgeable about French and California wines, we were unaware that such good wine is produced in Belgium. Yulia explained it all, complete with slide presentations of where the grapes were grown and anecdotes about the vintners. She really has an encyclopedic knowledge of wine and chose five wines for us which were each delicious. Her husband paired them with yummy snacks he prepared, all in the comfort of their lovely home. Both Yulia and Fabian are a lot of fun, we all laughed a lot in the process. Oh, and did I mention that the wines were delicious? Don't miss the opportunity to visit them! Thank you, Yulia and Fabian!

Yulia curated an incredibly fun, relaxing, and informative wine tasting, and we cannot thank her and Fabian enough. We had a great time!!! Yulia was very engaging and knowledgeable about Belgian wines, and responded to our many questions about the industry. The atmosphere was charming and comfortable, and of course, the wine itself was delicious! We never knew that Belgium had so much to offer in terms of wine, and we're grateful to have shared in the experience. A big thank you to Fabian as well for the great company and wonderful food pairings (best frites we had all weekend). We highly recommend this experience - bon appetit!

I had no idea about Belgian wines, so I decided - while being a bit afraid of their tastes, haha - to try it. Yulia was super friendly and knowledgeable, the environment super beautiful (in a 17th century home), and I'm happy I didn't eat before coming, as the freshly made Belgian specialty food complemented the - surprisingly good! - wine perfectly. Thanks for organising this! Altogether it was a very fun way to discover something else than the countless beers and chocolates we indulged in Belgium!

Host Yulia is very knowledgeable about the different wines and winehouses. Personally I didn’t know that Belgium had such good wines! Overall great experience at a nice place. A nice extra was the excellent food pairing. So in short: a must-do!
