Step inside a real Albanian home and discover the rich flavors of Berat’s traditional cuisine in this hands on cooking experience.
More than just a class, this is a warm cultural exchange where you’ll cook, eat, laugh, and create unforgettable memories with local hosts.
What to Expect:
Your experience begins with a warm welcome, just as any Albanian guest would receive a glass of homemade raki, a cup of traditional Turkish style coffee sweetened to your taste all served with a smile.
Then, it’s time to put on your apron!
Under the guidance of your host, you’ll prepare a full homemade meal using traditional recipes from the Berat region.
Everything is made by you, from scratch, with local and seasonal ingredients.

Immerse yourself in the authentic flavors of Albania with a traditional cooking class in a village home. Learn to prepare 3 classic dishes (depends on the group and the seasion), like -byrek, -meatballs, -stuffed peppers, -tavë kosi, -fërgesë, -lakror, -and gliko (sweet preserves) with hands-on guidance. After cooking, sit down to enjoy a shared meal with your group, savoring the fruits of your labor. Next, head to a local venue for a wine and raki tasting experience (1 type of wine + 2 type of raki), while learning about the production process, history, and customs surrounding this beloved drink. Sample wines and raki made from native Albanian grape varieties like: -White wine Shesh i Bardhë -Red wine Shesh i Zi, -Raki from grape -Raki with walnuts

5.00I’ll go straight to the point : you have to meet them Fast reply on WhatsApp They took us to their home. We have a 3-year-old daughter who played with their daughter all evening while we enjoyed drinks in their beautiful garden. We cooked delicious local dishes and then ate together in the living room with the whole family. It was an incredible experience, and they told us about the history of the town and gave us some great recommendations. I highly recommend it!

5.00Wonderful expérience. The family is very kind and really want to offer you the best memory of Albania. The cooking session is really great and accessible to everyone, even children. The teacher, Cimi is passionate, he gives good advices and he is also very friendly and funny. The diner with all the family is very nice, they explain you history of Albania and give tips for your holidays. I really recommend this activity which is more than activity, it is meeting a family and enjoying food that you can't taste as fresh in restaurants.

5.00We had an amazing time! This is a must do in berat. We were welcomed into their home, and cooked many traditional dishes with their family. We tried some homemade raki and local wine, and spent the evening chatting and learning more about life in Albania. We would definitely recommend.

5.00We had such a lovely time! I went on a road trip through Albania with my mom and we stopped in Berat just for this cooking class! It was so fun to learn about Albanian history from a local and to really feel like a part of someone’s family here. They were so kind, considerate, and welcoming to us. This is a one of a kind experience I can’t recommend enough. And now we have friends in Albania forever, and recipes to make back home anytime. 10/10

5.00A truly wonderful experience 💛 It wasn’t just a cooking class, it was feeling part of an Albanian family. From the first moment they made me feel super welcome. We cook together traditional dishes such as qofte shpie, patëllxhanë të mbushura and byrek me spinaq, all with fresh ingredients and homemade recipes passed down the generations. But the most special thing was not only the food (which was amazing), but the atmosphere: sharing the table, the talk, the warmth... is one of those experiences that really connect you with the local culture. If you are in Berat, I recommend it 100%. It is authentic, close and totally different from any sightseeing tour.
