Within just ten minutes after leaving Bergen, we’re already out of the city and surrounded by beautiful scenery. A little later, the road follows the idyllic Osterfjord, with Osterøy — Northern Europe’s largest inland island — on the left-hand side. At the narrowest point of the fjord, you’ll spot the elegant suspension bridge that connects Osterøy to the mainland.
After about an hour on the road, we arrive at the scenic Blåbærsletta. This is the perfect spot to stretch your legs, take a bathroom break, and—most importantly—soak in the views of the Fusafjord. We spend about 15 minutes here, enjoying a refreshing pause in nature’s embrace. From Blåbærsletta, we drive through beautiful fjord and mountain scenery towards the Hardangerfjord. On narrow roads, we pass lush valleys and charming small villages, where you can catch a glimpse of local life. Keep your eyes open for the many waterfalls plunging down the mountainsides—an impressive sight that truly shows the power of nature. As we get closer to the Hardangerfjord, the landscape gradually opens up, offering wide panoramic views across the fjord.

Tour was very well put together and the scenery was gorgeous. Lunch was a great experience in an authentic Norwegian cafe. Our guide Maritha gave us a lot of information about the Bergen area and wider Norway. The walk to the lake was on a well made gravel path and could be done at your own pace. All other stops were easily accessible.

Excellent one day trip for us, started from Standkaien all the way from Bergen... we travelled till bondhus lake, with a minimal hike to the glacier and waterfalls. Lunch at rosendal was good and we even got a vegetarian option... so really happy about that...the two small cruises through the fjords.. with so many waterfalls around were just amazing. Most importantly..our tour guide "Jan" made the experience special. I always want to learn about the country and its culture when I visit and he shared so much about Norsemen history, how kingdoms were built, the wars they fought and how Norway manages its economy so well today. ..He also explained about their industries, how they generate electricity, their food habits, dressing styles and even musical instruments... along the route, he pointed out the different house colours and explained why they are painted that way, how small villages still follow old traditions, and how people live in harmony with nature despite the harsh weather.... He also shared stories about local life, seasonal changes and how traditions are still preserved in these remote areas....Honestly, it felt like a full cultural journey along with the trip.We saw that his enthusiasm and effort to share their culture with tourists made us feel very very good. He actually kept us entertained with his words throughout the day. The day started with rain and we were a bit worried, but it ended in such a fantastic way... The waterfalls, the hike to the lake, the lunch, the stories from the guide and in that weather and road conditions, the safe driving by "Erik" everything just came together perfectly. We loved it a lot 👍

Nice panoramic tour with walks in trails suitable for everyone; beautiful glacial lake and appreciate the many stops along the way. Our guide was a nice local guy (very important thing) who described their culture, their economic system and their history very well. Considered the costs of the place, excellent value for money!

6/5 review ❤️ Bondhus Lake was incredible! Our guide Dan from Norway was really knowledgeable! Discuss all about Norway’s government, economy, people, life in Bergen or Norway. Very good tour leader also like a teacher and etc…

First off all, the tour itself was really good. The stops were all worth it, with gorgeous views, delicious food, rhe ability to refil waterbottles, and the necessary bathroom breaks. The hike was also truly gorgeous, and definitely not too intense. The trail offered amazing views on a river created by a gletsjer, the final destination a breathtaking view on the lake. The driver Dan and the tour guide Jan were both really helpful and kind, offering to take pictures and very creative ideas to make them special. On the bus (with air-conditioning, charging abilities, and comfortable seats) the tour guide took his time to tell us about Norwegian culture, folk tales, traditions, etc. It was really interesting to learn so much about the country, and even his own personal experiences from how he grew up there. I couldn't recommend this tour more! It was an amazing and educational experience, wich elevated our stay in Bergen by a lot!

This was a terrific day trip. There was a lot of bus travel but the scenery along the way was spectacular and our guide Maria gave us a lot of information along the way. There are a couple of similar tours but having lunch included was the reason we chose this particular tour and we were really happy with the day. The lake is beautiful and being able to see the glacier was also special. The walk to the lake is on an easy gravel path and you can walk further around it but is very rocky. Just take a little more care. Maria was a terrific guide who also gave us an insight into growing up in Norway. Erik our bus driver was also great and the bus was very nice and comfortable. We also liked that it was a small group.

It was a great experience, we really enjoy the excursion around the mountains, very different than the cruise travel to fiords! Lunch was included and the soup was amazing! The last stop to the waterfall was breathtaking, one of the best!
