Experience the ULTIMATE Santa Ana Volcano Hiking Tour in El Salvador.
Located in the biological corridor called Apaneca-Ilamatepec, Santa Ana volcano is considered one of the jewels of Central America.
If you are looking for the best things to do, we have designed this tour for you. The hike takes approximately 2 hours to climb and another 2 hours to descend, this can vary according to the physical condition of the group. On summit of the volcano you can see one of the most beautiful craters in the world with an emerald green lagoon.
At the end of the adventure we will drive to take in a panoramic view of Coatepeque lake with time for lunch (lunch not included)

5.00Josué, our tour guide was awesome. Super friendly and a great host. Lots of knowledgeable information and beautiful stories of San Salvador. Had some trouble at the start but nothing to do with Josué or the awesome tour. Seems it was more of a problem with management and a said “Francis”, whoever that may be you suck!!! However the guides and actives were amazing, cannot recommend it more ! Thank you so much Josué :)

5.00We had a great time with Diego! He was very patient with our group, so we had as many breaks as we needed. The views are wonderful! The hike can be intense, but manageable with short water breaks. The lunch was good too, affordable, and right in front of the lake. Thank you Diego for the great tour!

5.00Me and my wife were the only people on the tour to Santa Ana Volcano. Our tour guide Diego was a brilliant guide. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. The tour itself was a decent day out. Swimming in the lake after the volcano trek was amazing. I would highly recommend this tour and Diego.

5.00I had Diego as the tour guide. We were lucky to only have 3 people for the tour. Diego was extremely on time for pick up at my hotel! Which is a great start to this full day tour. He was a very good driver and during the drive to Santa Ana volcano he clearly explained the day’s activities, gave lots of opportunity to ask him questions, and he was a very knowledgable and patient in answering our all questions. This positive and professional attitude continued throughout the whole day of the tour. Diego’s English is very good! He was able to clearly answer all my questions in English. During the hike to the top of the volcano, Diego gave opportunities to take breaks when needed. He stopped to explain, unique animals and plants that are found during the hike. The actual hike was amazing, it wasn’t at all crowded, the environment and scenery was beautiful. At the top of the volcano, seeing the lake inside the crater was an once in a lifetime experience! On the way back to the city we stopped by Lake Coatepeque for lunch. The view was great. The food was delicious and the prices are very reasonable! In terms of this hike’s difficulty, you do need to be in relatively good shape. Due to the high altitude of around 2000 meters above sea level, oxygen in the air is thinner and you will require to breathe more frequently. You also need good knees, hips and balance because there are large stretches of the hike that are quite rocky. This whole tour experience was top notch compared to all the different tours I’ve taken around the world! I would book with this tour company again in the future, and I do recommend this tour to all nature lovers and hiking in enthusiasts!
Looking forward to coming back to El Salvador.

5.00This was a moderate hike, beautiful views and a great adventure to get done in a day! It was a wonderful experience. I would recommend bringing hiking boots, or something with ankle support, as it does get quite rocky as you approach the summit. Our guide Gaby was fantastic, had to speak in both Spanish and English which was done wonderfully, and was very accommodating! Would highly recommend.
Just hire a personal guide at the volcano

2.00My guide wasn’t very nice or helpful. Made me feel bad for not being faster on the hike. It made for a not so fun experience. Other guides with other groups were actually nicer and more helpful than mine was. If you’re a slower hiker your best bet is to just go to the volcano and hire a personal guide for half the price! That would have made my day a lot more enjoyable
