  Francisco provided an excellent tour of Monterry. He is a life-long resident and so, was very informative. His English is very good and he knows the best places to see in a 5-hour tour. He is an excellent driver, too!!

  

  

• You can enjoy some good tacos with what you prefer, people who attract, friendly and respectful.

  This was a great way to see the city and learn about its history. However, the best part was having Iván Rocha as our guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and even offered to take our pictures throughout the tour. I highly recommend this experience and would suggest asking for Iván specifically!

  Carlos was a great guide. We felt welcome and also secure with him. We walked through downtown Monterrey, some of Parque Fundidora,got on their boats in Santa Lucia and walked through some of el Barrio Antiguo. We a got a little piece of everything. This was our first time in Monterrey and didnt have a car so having this planned as well as a guide to pick us up and drop us off again was great. The weather was very hot in July recommend an umbrella or personal fan, wear breatheable clothes as you have to walk some. Guide spoke Spanish only.

  Guide started off alright. He always spoke to me and not my wife. She made all the plans and he texted her and not me…but he didn’t know that. He texted the day before and asked us if we could meet earlier. We said yes, but I had to work and we’d hurry through lunch. If he met us at our hotel then we’d save time. Okay! 20 minutes before new pickup, he said he was busy and changed it to original timeframe. Not cool. Tour started off fine, but guide became more distracted and soon was on his phone constantly…texting and calling. At the boat ride, he said nothing and we have no Spanish skills. So we waited in line for quite a long time with him on the phone. We didn’t understand ONE thing!! By the walk to the foundry, we had enough. We both were ready to go! Francisco was texting and calling the whole time. He talked to someone on the phone on the boat ride! People were looking at him! We felt it was incredibly rude! Boat ride back was the same. Nothing…We rode back to the hotel and he talked on the phone the whole time. The guide only spoke to me, and my wife was not happy! He talked to her when she talked to him. I feel like the tour could have been really cool but our guide was not!!! He was too busy with other people texting and calling!! We thought it was very rude and thus no tip was provided. Very disappointed in our guide, but we did get some nice pictures.

  We saw and learned a lot about Monterrey. There was a walking portion in our tour that was easy and relax, as well as interesting. Emilio told us all about the old iron foundry that closed in 1986. He answered all our questions. Our driver, Oberlin, is very friendly and knowledgeable. He took us through San Pedro and told us about the caves.   The old town portion of the trip was the best. Just the sort of thing I like. Boat tour nice but was all in Spanish. No info in English. The boat tour should accommodate their passengers if possible.
