Tachogang Lhakhang Bridge
On the way stop at Tachoggang, a beautiful, historic sight across the Paro River. Adorned with numerous prayer flags, the iron bridge is a beautiful walk towards the temple. Apart from the temple, the bridge is of profound importance and steeped in history. Light a butter lamp here and begin your tour with beautiful aspiration.
Simtokha Dzong
Five miles from Thimphu, on a lofty ridge, stands Simtokha Dzong the oldest fortress in the Kingdom. Simtokha's strategic position overlooks the entire Thimphu Valley. The central tower has 12 sides, unlike any other Fortress in Bhutan.The carvings on walls in the courtyard is amazing
Buddha Dordenma
Marvel at the grandeur of the tallest sitting Buddha statue, towering at an impressive height of 51.5 meters, located at Kuensel Phodrang.
Wangdi-tse Monastery
Venture through the flavors and scents of thick pine forest along the side of Thimphu valley leading to the glorious Wangditse temple. It is one and half hour - easy hike crossing local apple farms and houses which could be exciting for the kids. The trail further takes into trees of oak, pine, and rhododendron which accompany you throughout the hike while occasionally opening to the view of the Buddha Dordenma statue, Tashichoe Dzong and Thimphu valley. From Wangditse Temple you have the option to hike back the same way and drive to Dechenphodrang Monastery or hike down to Dechenphodrang Monastery where you can meet young monks undergoing their monastic schooling. You can interact with the monks and witness their day to day life. Time Taken: 1 hour to 1 and half hour.
Centenary Farmers Market
Thimphu's Weekend Market, a lively maze near Wang Chhu, bursts with regional vendors every Thursday to Sunday. Delight your senses with aromatic incense, exotic spices, and unique finds like yak legs with hooves attached. From dried fish to local honey, the stalls offer a sensory feast. Don't miss the cereals section with red rice and kapche. The bustling atmosphere spills into the streets, creating a vibrant market scene. Rise early to the sound of the chirping birds and morning bell summoning the monks for Morning Prayer. Begin your day by participating in Morning Prayer with the assembly of monks at the Dodeydra Monastery, before headind back to Thimphu.
Dochula Pass
On the way to Punakha, stop at Dochu La Mountain pass at 3,100 meters marked by 108 Buddhist Shrines. If skies are clear, the high Himalayan peaks towards the north east will be revealed in all their glory. Hoist prayer flags on one of the highest point and make aspirations to benefit of all being.
Chimi Lhakhang Temple
Hike to Chimi Lhakhang, at about five minutes walk away from Sopsokha Village. Prepare to be greeted by paintings of an unassuming sight on your way to the site. The temple is also popularly known as the divine mad monk's temple or the temple of fertility.
Punakha Dzong
Visit Punakha Dzong, a massive structure built at the junction of two rivers. Punakha was Bhutan’s capital until 1955 and Punakha Dzong still serves as the winter residence of the central monk body. Bhutan’s first king, Ugyen Wangchuck, was crowned here in 1907. The fortress has withstood damage from fire, earthquake and flood over the centuries. The latest flood, in October, 1994, caused great damage to the fortress but miraculously spared its most holy statue.

Paro Taktsang
Early morning drive to Paro. Upon reaching Paro hike up to Tiger’s Nest - one of Bhutan’s most revered pilgrim sites; be rewarded to the overwhelming sight of the monastery perched on a cliff at 3,120 meters above the sea level and 900 meters above Paro valley. Tiger’s Nest or Taktsang acquires its name from the legend of its foundation, when in the 8th Century Guru Rinpoche, widely revered as the second Buddha, arrived from Tibet flying across the mountains on the back of a tigress and meditated here for three months. He blessed and preached tantric Buddhism in Bhutan.

5.00We booked a private tour on the recommendation of friends, and didn’t regret it. It was a 6 night experience, including various stops at different temples, monasteries and fortresses. It was a completely customizable experience, which allowed us to include a stay in a monastery, a dress-up experience in cultural clothes, the Bumdra Trek with a visit to the famous Tiger’s Nest monastery and a traditional hot stone bath, among other things. So glad that we booked this trip and with this operator (Bhutan Inbound). The whole process was very well-handled, from booking to touring. The visa and plane tickets were completely handled, and on the actual journey all the food/transportation/admissions were taken care of, making the experience very seamless and stressless. Our guide Tandin and driver Bobo we’re both fantastic… extremely friendly, welcoming, conscientious, considerate and informative… they made our experience very educational while enjoyable.

5.00My friend and I completed the Bhutan Unleashed tour with a stay at Dodeydra monastery and the Bumdra camp and hike to the Tigers Nest monastery (7D6N). Communicating and booking with the company was very easy on WhatsApp. Thinley answered all of our questions thoroughly. When we arrived at the airport, our guide Tandin Wangchuk and driver Bobo Tandin met us with welcoming smiles. The week was wonderful with an immersion in Bhutanese culture and history. Their love for their country was evident. Tandin kept us engaged with his knowledge and passion and guided us safely on the hikes to Dodeydra, Bumdra and the sky burial sites, and the Tigers Nest monastery. These were my highlights! His patience, friendliness and humor was much appreciated. Bobo kept us safe on the roads and was our escort shopping for souvenirs! I would strongly recommend this company, our guide Tandin and driver Bobo for an unforgettable experience in Bhutan!

5.00Great tour with our guide Namgay Wangchuk and driver Karma. Namgay was so knowledgeable and passionate. He told us a lot of Bhutan’s history and the developed the Buddhism in Bhutan. He accommodated our individual needs well and at the same time maintained the schedule so everyone in the groupwas happy. Karma drove smoothly on the winding mountain road and he helped handling the luggage as well. It was a great experience and I certainly recommend this company and the guide Namgay Wangchuk.

5.00I had an amazing experience in Bhutan with Phub Tshering as my guide and Lobzang as my driver and had an amazing time. Bhutan was the most unique travel experience I’ve ever had. Bhutan is one of the safest, cleanest, and most beautiful countries in the world. I wish I had booked a longer trip. It is the most peaceful place in the world. We hit the highlights of Bhutan and spent a night at a monastery in the mountains. The accommodations and car were great and my only regret was not booking a longer tour. I will be coming back as soon as I can.

5.00Wow what an incredible experience with a very professional team. Madhu was great in sorting out all our questions at the start and welcoming us in person to Bhutan. Our 3 drivers were kind and courteous and able to be flexible with our needs, but the star of the show was our guide Penjor. He was knowledgeable, well connected, friendly and super helpful in every respect. He was available 24/7 and made everything seamless.

5.00Over the last ten years my wife and I have travelled extensively throughout South East Asia but I have to say visiting Bhutan with this tour has been one of the highlights, not only of all our trips but of our entire lives! Our amazing, caring, helpful and very knowledgeable guide Namgay, explained all aspects of Bhutanese life. In really engaging ways, Namgay explained to us, this unique country’s culture - from its cuisine to its rich history and religion. Namgay was supported by one of the best drivers we’ve ever had on our many Asian odysseys. KP cheerfully navigated hundreds of miles, back and forth across this Himalayan nation, during our five-day adventure and we felt entirely safe all the time. Top class driver! We’ve actually been treated like guests in Bhutan during our entire stay - not simply tourists. That’s been a big plus. And the company has been very flexible and accommodating. If we wanted to modify the trip in any way, they were always open to our suggestions. Meanwhile, the high points of our trip have included staying one night in a remote monastery at Godeydrak which was an experience of a lifetime. We hiked there and heard evening prayers with the local Buddhist monks, followed by a fascinating conversation with one of the senior teachers on the essence of Buddhism. Also outstanding were the fabulous Fortress at Punnakha, reached by crossing an ancient magical wooden bridge with shoals of trout below and the lovely Chimi Fertility Temple, established by the country’s “divine madman” whose “crazy wisdom” would surely benefit us all in these testing times! Finally, for me, the most rewarding part of the trip was the hike to the Tiger’s Nest Monastery which is truly one of the wonders of the world. It’s a tough walk, but well worth the effort. Our hotels (apparently only three star but better than most four star hotels we’ve stayed in throughout Asia) were all impeccably clean with lovely staff and great tasty local food. I really can’t recommend enough this tour, this company and its outstanding employees.

5.00I had the most incredible time! Damber who I corresponded with got everything organised with so much ease super last minute! And was really accommadating. And wjere we visited was super special and felt really unique as I got to really dive into Tibetan Budhism and understand Bhutanes culture in so much depth. But honestly the highlight was Guide- Tenzin Loday and Lhab Tshering our driver! I got two super experienced senior guides! Tenzin was such a laugh, we had such great banter and it made me feel even more comfortable as I was traveling alone, I never felt alone. The Tenzin tax was paid haha super special guide honestly I recommend this especially if you get Tenzin and Lhab (LT). The two together knew so much! From budhism to plants and birds to politics and social policy of the country and its history. Truly amazing. I only wish it was longer, but now I've made friends for a life time and I hope to come back soon.
