Lyab-i-Hauz

Labi Hauz which is translated as 'at the pond' is one of the central squares of Bukhara situated in the southeast part of the city. The architectural ensemble was created in the 16th-17th centuries. The square has the form of an irregular polygon with the Divan-Begi madrasah in the eastern part.

Had a very good experience with our lovely guide Shaznoza (hope I spell your name correctly). Thank you for time telling us the history of Bukhara old city and accomodating us looking for a dorixona before we start the tour. Bukhara will always be in our heart!

What an extraordinary place. I would have missed out on so much history and empathy for the people who lived and continue to live here, but thanks to my friendly, knowledgeable guide, Gulnaz, I had the opportunity to appreciate this place deeply. I had a wonderful day exploring Bukhara’s Old Town with Shakhnoza. She is incredibly knowledgeable and explained the history and culture in a way that was easy to follow and very engaging. The tour was well-paced, and I never felt rushed while still seeing all the main highlights. Her warm personality and excellent English made the whole experience enjoyable — highly recommended!

Amazing experience thanks to our guide Shaki. She went above and beyond to make the most out of our experience in Bukhara. Her knowledge of history, religion, culture in general and languages is really impressive. She understands the needs of the group and adjusted perfectly to our expectations of the visit with flexibility and understanding. Our tour had everything a great tour should have, in depth insight of the history and culture, we visited also a couple of arts workshops that were able to really transmit their passion to us. We spoke about society and politics without boundaries, which is truly appreciated when getting immerse in a foreign culture. We stopped for delicious coffees and smoothies. And we visited almost every corner of the city worth visiting. Plus she gave us plenty of advices for dining and further visits in the evening. 5 stars aren’t enough to reward the passion for hospitality that we’ve been shown. Thanks for making our stay truly memorable at Bukhara, we’ll always remember it

Today we enjoyed an excellent tour of Bukhara. Our guide led us on a walk through the old city's main monuments, madrassas, and mosques. She taught us about Bukhara's history and its key developments across ancient and modern times. Part of the city is currently undergoing renovation, and I believe it captures the essence of the Silk Road era perfectly.

Wonderful experience! Our guide was easy going and very flexible with our unique schedule (we wanted a longer amount of time to take photos). She was passionate about the local history, and was happy to answer other questions about contemporary society and culture. Thank you Bexruza!
