The visit will start from Porta Marina, the sea gate. After an introduction of the dynamics of the eruption and the historical background of the the ancient city, we shall visit the following highlights of the site: The Forum, that's to say the main square, the centre of political, economical, religious and social life. The body casts, people preserved in their last second of life. One of the the ancient public baths. 5.00Stop scrolling these reviews and just book! Alex’s tours sell out for a reason: the passion, humour and empathy of Alex himself! Both for the people he is showing around Pompeii, and for the long-gone people of Pompeii itself. For Alex, a Vesuvian native, this is a living history. He cares so deeply about this place, and continues to learn and uncover new knowledge just as Pompeii itself continues to be revealed. Everything others say here about his expertise with children is even truer with neurodivergent kids like our lil guy. To get a scatterbrained 9 year old, in this heat, to stay present, entertained and moving is a minor miracle. And to balance that with just enough tantalising adult chat for the grown-ups? Genius. Alex: the world is yours, you’ve made friends for life!

5.00With Alex as guide, Pompeii comes alive again. For those interested in history with a lot of background knowledge , there are many details, as well as for children and first-time visitors to Pompeii time flies by.. We are fortunate that we have been able to experience several tours together with Alex and every time this is a highlight of our holiday. Alex has a very natural and personal nature and everyone feels personally addressed and involved We are already looking forward to the next tour with him. We will definitely come back!!!.

5.00We are a group of 9 adults and 5 children and had the pleasure of visiting the Pompeii ruins on August 17 with Alex as our guide. It was an exceptional experience in every respect. Professionalism and passion: Alex is an exceptionally knowledgeable, likeable and engaging guide. It doesn’t just illustrate the monuments, it really transports you back in time, telling fascinating anecdotes and details. Involvement of children: It is particularly adept at capturing the attention of younger people. Our children had a great time, and we adults learned a lot while always being involved. Tailored tours: Alex was able to adapt the pace of the tour to our group, avoiding the most crowded areas and making the experience more enjoyable. Constant enthusiasm: His energy and enthusiasm are contagious. It made us enchanted for the duration of the tour, so much so that time flew. 5.00We highly recommend this tour and Alex! He grew up in Pompeii and has been coming to this ancient city since he was a child. He could answer any question, gave us a personalized tour based on our interests, spoke wonderful English and engaged the kids in our group (ages 11-16). It was incredibly hot and he showed us how to wet our baseball caps in the fountain to cool off. We used this "Alex Pompeii hat technique" throughout the rest of our trip during a heat wave in Italy.
