Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral
Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral, built in the late 1880s by French colonists, is one of the few remaining strongholds of Catholicism in the largely Buddhist Vietnam. Located in Paris Square, the name Notre Dame was given after the installation of the statue ‘Peaceful Notre Dame’ in 1959. In 1962, the Vatican conferred the Cathedral status as a basilica and gave it the official name of Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica. Measuring almost 60 metres in height, the cathedral’s distinctive neo-Romanesque features include the all-red brick façade (which were imported from Marseille), stained glass windows, two bell towers containing six bronze bells that still ring to this day, and a peaceful garden setting in the middle of downtown Ho Chi Minh City District 1.
Saigon Central Post Office
The Central Post Office in Ho Chi Minh is a beautifully preserved remnant of French colonial times and perhaps the grandest post office in all of Southeast Asia. Located next door to Notre Dame Cathedral, the two cultural sites can be visited together and offers visitors a chance to imagine life in Vietnam during the times of the Indochinese Empire. The building was designed by Alfred Foulhoux and features arched windows and wooden shutters, just as it would have in its heyday in the late 19th Century.

5.00We had a wonderful experience with our guide Shane. He was very knowledgeable and spoke fluent English. We liked that the tour was tailored to our interests. Shane took us to the oldest coffee shop in the city (featured in NYT). We enjoyed the coffee and also the local lunch place that Shane had recommended. We also liked the Lacquer factory and bought a beautiful painting. We wish we had more time as the drive there and back was an hour and half each way. We definitely recommend Shane and his awesome tour.

5.00This was an absolute great experience and we totally recomend this tour. Our guide, Jasmine (Nagn, also known as Nguyen Thuy Thanh Ngan), did such a good job, better it could really not have been. From the first beginning she gave us a perfect idea of Vietnam's life, culture and lots of insider tips. She had an answer on all our questions which she replied to patiently. Dynamic young and extemely motivated, she shared her increíble knowledge with us in every second of the trip. Even being tight on time due to the cruise, she attended our special wishes and adapted the tour to our needs. She and our driver (who by the way was very profesional and knew all the shortcuts back to the port to avoid that we arrive late as there was lots of traffic jam) made a really good team and made sure that we got back on time to our ship. We saw so many planned points of interest (Notre Dame, Post Office, Viewing Platform-extra payment, Oldest Temple and Ho Chi Minh Statue and many more) but also others that Nagn had proposed espontaneously during our trip. We really thank her and our driver for the lovely day and wish them all the best!

5.00We had a wonderful day with Hao as our guide. He was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. He modified the itinerary based on our wishes and got us fast track entry whenever there was a line, which was very much appreciated. We must also mention our driver who safely transported us to all of the destinations and back to the ship at the end of the day. Highly recommended!

5.00Tom was a great tour guide. Customized the tour to our family. It was just our family on the tour. He took us to some places off the beaten path. Took plenty pictures of our group. The van they drove us in was comfortable. There was both a driver and Tom our guide which made drop offs and pick ups very convenient even in busy areas. They picked us up at the gate of our cruise port and made sure we made it back in time to board our ship. We were late arriving and they had to wait for us but they were very kind about it. Tom did a great job teaching us about the area and it's history. His English was very good. He was very friendly and a pleasure to be around. We are so glad we picked this tour.

5.00We had a great tour with Shane around Ho Chi Minh City. He picked us up in a nice van right at the cruise port in Phu My. It was great because we were able to make the extra stops we wanted, but we also got to see all the famous spots in the city. The Pho lunch was yummy, and the coffee was delicious. Thank you, Shane!

5.00Barney was a great guide for our cruise stop in Ho Chi Minh (Saigon). He showed up on time and tailored the tour to our preferences. We learned about the Vietnamese culture, history, and sampled amazing food. We rode around in transport with A/C and felt safe at all times. Barney knew all the stops to get the most out of our day and stay aligned to our cruise timeline. We would highly recommend!

5.00Nothing can make our experience better when we are traveling than a knowledgeable and passionate guide. Peter delivered it! Not only showing us all the sights but also putting everything into context( (history, religion, politics) without ever being biased. Food was excellent and the coffee shop a must!
