You’ll learn about currents, positioning, and how to move safely in the ocean. 2️⃣ Technique Practice on the Sand Before entering the water, we practice: Proper board positioning Efficient paddling technique The correct pop-up (how to stand up) Wave timing fundamentals This preparation dramatically increases your chances of catching waves. 3️⃣ Guided Warm-Up Stretching and mobility exercises prepare your body for balance and performance. 4️⃣ In-Water Coaching Now the fun begins. Mao stays close to guide you into the right waves at the right moment, helping you build confidence with every ride.

5.00Mao from Mousehead Surf School in Tamarindo is the best. I spent three days with him and he gave very in depth tips taking me from raw beginner with white water to intermediate level riding greens. Learning how to read the waves before they come. He was very hospitable and very patient. Very personable and very detail oriented. He carried to my specific needs and helped me progress!

5.00We had the best time with Mao and Leo this morning! My husband and 18-year-old son and I had a private lesson and it was absolutely fantastic. They were kind, supportive, informative, helpful and we all were able to get up and enjoyed our lesson. Would absolutely go again with Mao. 5.00Mao was fantastic!!! First time trying surfing with our boys, ages 11 and 12. Mao was great and took good care of them. They both had a fun time and made good progress in getting to stand up. Overall amazing experience.

5.00Mao, Leo, and Dennis took great care of me and my friends over two consecutive surf lessons this week. Mao tailored specific boards and assigned instructors to students which resulted in the best outcome and environment to learn. One day I will make it back to Costa Rica and will definitely hire Mao and his quality team.

5.00Mao and his team were fantastic. We came down for a business getaway and did two days of surf lessons, and it was an awesome experience. I’m used to skiing, but surfing was completely new for me, and they did a great job breaking things down so it all made sense. They took the time to make sure we understood the basics, were patient the entire time, and kept great vibes throughout the lessons. Everyone felt comfortable and encouraged. Their English was excellent, communication was easy, and overall it was just a really good experience. Highly recommend Mao and his team if you’re looking to learn to surf. 🤙
