Extend your Cairns rainforest scenic helicopter flight to 30 minutes and we start this experience by climbing quickly with a clearance to 2,500 ft over the City of Cairns headed West for the Great Dividing Range. Ascending the lush eastern slopes, we arrive over beautiful Lake Morris which attracts an abundance of birdlife to its pristine waters. Passing over Copperlode Dam we’ll track along the range, overflying the Kuranda Scenic Railway at Stoney Creek.
We continue on, flying into the mighty ‘Instagram’ worthy Barron Gorge. Here we’ll gently climb, passing through 1,000 ft over the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway and then circle over the Barron Falls and nearby Kuranda rainforest village where the famous Skyrail and Kuranda Scenic Railway begin their return journey back to Cairns. From Kuranda, your Cairns helicopter tour turns for the coast over the lush eastern slopes of the Great Dividing Range with views of Double Island, Palm Cove, over Cairns city and out to the Reef.

Cairns
Climbing over the city of Cairns we cross the Great Dividing Range taking in Lake Morris, the waterholes of Crystal Cascades and the Barron Gorge with Barron Falls. We circle the rainforest village of Kuranda and descend the lush eastern slopes of the range, passing Double Island, Palm Cove and the Northern Beaches of Cairns.

5.00Our second trip in a day….. overland rather than the Reef this time. Again both Hayley and Niels were fabulous in getting the most out of the experience, from clear briefing and instruction, to a fun description of what we were seeing over the ‘Oldest Rainforest in the World’, spectacular views of the dam and waterfalls 100m higher than Niagra. Even sorted out our taxi back to the City. Thanks both, the highlight of our Queensland adventure. M&J

5.00We did this in combination with a Great Barrier Reef flight. Communication before the activity was responsive and well done. We used an Uber from our hotel and located the launch site with ease. Chris was out with another customer and left a note and access to cold drinks while we waited. Chris is very professional and well trained. He maintains high levels of safety. His commentary was so wonderful. We had great views. In fact, we went up on the Karunda Rail the next day and found our helicopter ride made that seem like a Disneyland attraction. We highly recommend Zoom Helicopters to anyone wanting a memorable experience
