Join us for a half-day adventure tour exploring the Big Island from summit to sea. We offer a unique tour including hands-on artifacts, fresh fruit, historical insights, and the significance of the places we visit. We'll take you on an unforgettable journey through Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, home to the world's most active volcano, Kilauea. You'll travel from the visitor center to Kilauea crater for panoramic views of the smoking caldera and steaming volcanic vents, and walk inside iconic Nahuku (Thurston Lava Tube). For lunch, enjoy an island-inspired meal on us at a local restaurant. Later, we'll visit Punaluʻu black sand beach (The Most Famous Black Sand Beach on the Big Island )
and discover the picture-perfect scenery of Rainbow Falls in Hilo.
Please note:
We provide pick-up & drop-off in the Hilo area only.
This tour is not wheelchair accessible and includes moderate walking, including climbing roughly 15 stairs during the lava tube tour.

Rainbow Falls
Rainbow Falls is named after the colorful rainbows that appear in the mists of its waters. Signs in the viewing area relate some interesting historical facts about the waterfall, as well as the legend of the “Battle of the Wailuku River”.

Drive through Downtown Hilo, a charming mix of historic architecture, local shops, and lush greenery set against the backdrop of Hilo Bay.

4.00Anthony & Desmond were fabulous! I thought we'd see more waterfalls. The food for lunch was good. The waitress was rude to our group. She seemed to be more concerned about her big group that was coming in rather than our group. Waited on & served people that came in after us. The fruit break was a wonderful surprise.
Perfect outing to discover important places of HIlo!

5.00Amazing day in Hilo. We enjoy every minute of our trip through waterfalls, lava tubes, volcano en as the black sans beach. Sadly Kilauea was « just » smoky and not erupting but still incredible moment. We saw some turtles at the beach. But the best part of our day was the kindness and all the polynesian and nativ hawaiian knowlesge of our 2 fabulons guides Desmond and Anthony. Good job guys, u made these beautifull landscapes even better !

5.00Desmond and Anthony were a great tour guide team! We learned about the history, plants/animals and interesting facts about the big island. They were so kind, friendly, making us feel like family. They were even willing to double back if the volcano erupted as it was smoking quite a bit the day of our tour. Would highly recommend this tour!

5.00We couldn’t have had a more memorable day on our Volcanoes National Park and Hilo tour with Desmond and Mike. We were very lucky to be there on a day with huge lava fountains that made national news, but also to be in such experienced hands. They rearranged our itinerary to make sure that we were able to get to all of the best viewing points right away and pointed out how to find them along the path, took all the photos we could ever wish for, and arranged for us to stay and have lunch at a restaurant with a view of the volcano. Later in the day, they were ready with masks and an alternate plan when ash started falling at the black sand beach and competent first aid for a guest who tripped and fell. I can’t say enough about what a special day it was in every sense of the word. I would recommend Shaka Braddah Tours for any visitor!
