Started with a nice , guided tour through a channel through the mangroves. While the moon was bright, the tour guides brought tarps to cover the boats so we could see the lights. Finished up at kayak village with free snacks for all.

This was an amazing experience we will remember for a long time. Paddling through the mangroves in the dark was just magical, as was the bioluminescence- and we were there on a “bad” night! We absolutely loved our guide Miguel! Ineliz, Francisco, and Brian were a great crew. Definitely recommend! Do note that you get in the water waist deep to get in your kayak, so when they say you will get wet they mean it! I also think this is maybe not the tour for newbie kayakers - it’s a fairly narrow canal with little visibility and a current. If you have kayaked at all it’s not overly difficult, and absolutely worth it.

Although we happened to be there on a bright full moon night so it was hard to see the luminescence, the guides were great and kayaking through the dark groves was definitely something we’ve never experienced before. Would probably try it again with hopes for better weather conditions.

Really enjoyed our experience, kayaking at night is really cool. Miguel, Brian and Danielle were great, managing a large group. Loved the experience, we had adults and kids of all ranges so it was a great family activity.

Unique experience. The guides were wonderful and knowledgeable. They ensured that we could see the illumination even in the rain and other undesirable conditions. Will definitely do this again.

This whole experience was a waste of time and money. The organization was poor. The bioluminescence could only be seen for a few moments under a tarp. The water was gross and ruined our clothes. At one point, they had us slather bug repellent all over our bodies. There was an older man that was pumping the bottle, then covering his groin and up under his shorts and underwear with the repellent, then proceeding to touch the bottles and get more repellent. Slathering himself inappropriately. The location the vendor sent out was about a 1/4 of a mile away from where the meetup point was, and we nearly missed the tour to begin with - in hindsight I wish we had. They allowed children to pilot kayaks alone, which lead to the kids crashing into others and crossing paths with the other kayakers. Instead of providing a lanyard or dry bag, phones were taken and you could not take pictures. The bathrooms used for multiple companies and had 10+ people in line at all times.
