Kayak through the mangroves of Laguna Grande and experience the natural glow of bioluminescence. Visibility varies as it's a natural phenomenon; a tarp may be used to block out light and enhance visibility, making it easier to see even subtle sparkles.
Advisories:
1. Sargassum, a harmless local seaweed, may occasionally be present and emit an odor.
2. Solo kayakers and odd-numbered groups will be paired up.
3. You will get wet—dress accordingly.
4. During peak season, high traffic may cause light contact between kayaks; our experienced guides ensure a safe and enjoyable tour.
5. Participants aged 6–14 must ride in a tandem kayak with an adult.
Participants aged 15–17 must be accompanied by an adult on the tour.
6. Wear comfortable, quick-drying clothes and water shoes or sandals. You will get wet.

Not allowed for pregnant guests or those with casts, heart conditions, neck/back issues, epilepsy, or dizziness.
Weight limit p/p of 225 lb (102kg)! Checks will be conducted prior to boarding; no participation nor refunds if exceeded.

2.00I was apprehensive about rating this experience. We booked 2 other excursions through this app and they exceeded our expectations. This one, not so much. We close the 8 PM in hopes to see a fair amount of bioluminescence. Unfortunately, we only saw some sparking while under a tarp, like blanket static in winter. I will say, the stars looked amazing. The lead guides were personable and knowledgeable, however they had zero control over the guests. Also, PR is not the only place to see bioluminescence as he stated. The overall group was rather large (15+ kayaks plus several guides) and unruly. There was a group that definitely had been drinking. We smelled it on them prior to departing, after, and they were parked next to us and were drinking in the parking area. They were loud and obnoxious. There were 4 guys (different group) that blatantly ignored the guides to stay single file, 6 feet apart, and thought it was hysterical to ram into each other, and laughing at whomever they rammed into. The light on the kayak in front of us was out, so in the dark it appeared that we were lagging behind. Others decided to pass and we warned them that there was a kayak with no light in front of us but they proceeded to rush past, slamming into them. One couple hit us at least 5 times causing my son to catch his paddle as they again slammed into us smashing his finger. One couple ahead kept messing up the single line because the young lady (in the front seat) refused to paddle. She stayed on her phone for the majority of the trip, ignored him when he was begging for her to help, leaving him to paddle. He kept losing control and was exhausted, especially while we were going against the current. We drove an hour and a half to see a few sparks under a tarp. I would not book with this company or recommend this particular excursion. The guides really need to be assertive during the trip and deny drunk kayakers.

5.00A wonderful experience for our entire family ages 79 to 17. Be sure to wear a bathing suit, as you wade through knee deep water to enter and exit the kayaks. The paddling was easy and the guides were very helpful and friendly. Definitely would do this again.
Great Crew, Inadequate Bioluminescent Experience

2.001st, the crew was fantastic and kayaking was fun but understand many groups of kayaks going out at similar times. Also if you want a bioluminescent experience, it isn't likely to happen. For comparison, we have had this wonderful experience twice in Grand Cayman. In this case, even with only a 1/4 moon there was too much light to experience the bioluminescents. They don't cancel, they use tarps and cover you and you swish your hand in the water between the kayaks. Geoff Coffman

5.00We had such a great time! It is so cool kayaking in the dark- seeing the stars. We had pretty great visibility in the water, they have a moment where they put you under a tarp to see the lights even brighter in the water and it’s pretty magical. The crew was so awesome & had a wealth of knowledge! Would do it again!

4.00There were many cool parts of this experience. First of all, just the blanket of stars we were under was simply mesmerizing. I also loved kayaking in the dark through the mangroves. The guides were friendly and I especially thought Pedro was great. He was funny, warm and enthusiastic. I did think the glow of the water would be brighter and bluer from pictures that I had seen but it was still really beautiful. I will say that I brought a waterproof bag to hold my phone, but it was hard to snap pictures while trying to move the water at the same time to spark the glow. So I’d say for anyone reading this no need to bring your phone. Just enjoy.

5.00Pedro & crew were AWESOME!! They explained clearly all expectations, guided us while kayaking through the mangroves “manglares”. I had previous experience but wanted my daughters to experience it. Totally worth it!!
Great nighttime adventure

5.00We took the nighttime bio bay kayaking tour and really enjoyed it. There are lights on each kayak so you can easily follow your guide. We went through the mangrove forest and emerged in the bioluminescent bay and they provided a tarp to block out the city lights and moonlight. We could not see a spectacular display as shown in brochures and could not take pictures due to the low light but it was a cool experience.
