3.00I was generally satisfied with the Isla Nena bio-bay boat tour itself. Our driver Ian was at the pick-up location on time and he was very polite and professional. The captain of the boat was also nice, informative and took the time to answer questions about the bay and the organisms living in the waters. I was disappointed that I attempted to contact Isla Nena with questions I had on two separate occasions - via their 787 number through WhatsApp as well as the ‘Contact tour operator’ messaging function through the Trip Advisor app - and never received a reply from either attempt. An opportunity for improvement would be more effective and timely communication. Otherwise, I was satisfied with the tour.

5.00We had a magnificent evening—all thanks to Eddie, our guide—who is the spirit of the Bioluminescent Bay. He is a savant and taught us so much about nature, the ecosystem, Puerto Rico. I would go again 1,000 times! Our whole family was overwhelmed by his expertise and kindness—a true poet of nature.

5.00This is the best option for experiencing the bioluminescent bay if kayaking is not your thing, like some hydrophobic members of our group… and it’s absolutely worth it. We took the boat tour at 6:30 pm. The tour guide was informative and kind. We got to see some needlefish, and even a big fish glowing in the bay. We also saw a weird bouncing light floating over the bioluminescent bay... so if you believe in ghosts/spirits, look out for them? :D You can’t miss this in Vieques!
Bioluminescent tour, a must see to believe.

5.00Be prepared to be amazed! As a group of six mature folks, we decided to take the boat vs kayaks. We are so happy we did! Our captain was Eddie and he was so knowledgeable about not only the Bioluminescent Bay but the stars and environment around him. With kayaks, I don't feel we would have gotten the same insight into this wonderful experience. It is worth the money spent!

2.00When our van driver, Ian, opened the door before the trip, the smell of weed was overwhelming. He and his coworker were clearly high while driving us through dark, hazardous roads — incredibly unsafe and unprofessional, especially with passengers in their care. The only saving grace was the actual bioluminescent bay tour. The guide was fantastic — knowledgeable, friendly, and made the experience enjoyable. We were rescheduled to an earlier tour due to low attendance, but the small group ended up being great. Two stars only because the guide and the bay were wonderful, but the driver’s irresponsibility ruined what could have been an incredible experience.

1.00Worst experience. We booked a night on the island just for this boat tour and they cancelled it at the last minute. Still trying to get a refund.
