Oscar took my husband and I for the 5 hour bird watching tour. It was wonderful. We saw lots of different birds. Oscar was a very knowledgeable guide and passed his knowledge with ease. Good communication and well managed. Our best wildlife tour of the holiday.

Oscar is super chill and funny but also very professional. And his knowledge is 10/10. At breakfast he expressed confidence that we’d spot my resplendent target bird and he delivered in like 20 minutes. Then we saw so many other incredible birds. My wife and I hope to have another opportunity to visit the area, and when we do, we’ll absolutely use Monteverde Wild again.

Joined Oscar for an incredible 6AM tour. We saw so many beautiful and rare tropical birds including toucans, toucanets and a few quetzals, among many other species. Oscar was both very knowledgeable and skilled at spotting the birds. He had both a scope and special lens to connect his phone to it so you could see the birds very clearly, which none of the other guides had today. Breakfast at Stella’s was also delicious. We highly recommend this tour!

Oscar was a great guide! We’ve seen plenty of species and he personalized our itinerary so we could watch the birds I was asking for! I spent a great tour and would definitely recommend to go with him for an amazing experience because he knows a lot about birds and hidden places. We’ve even been able to see species not so commonly found. Added to that we went on a great place for breakfast where we could also see bird such as the emerald toucanet (and coati, monkey). Thank you Oscar for your precious time in your beautiful lands.

My wife and I hired Eduardo Venegas as our guide through the Cloud Forest Preserve. We had an outstanding experience! He was enthusiastic and very knowledgable. We saw quite a few birds, including the Quetzal. I came away with dozens of great images of the scenery and wildlife. We like Eduardo so much we hired him AGAIN for a night tour in a different place, right in Monteverde. This was a totally different experience and got some great shots of a colorful frog (very poisonous) and also ran across a sleeping hummingbird and MotMot. We had a great time and hope more people find Eduardo!
Highly recommended if you are a bird lover.

Spectacular tour and guide, which demonstrates some mastery of the subject. He recommended a last-minute change of plans to have more opportunities with the birds.

Our family went on an early morning birdwatching tour with Oscar & had a fantastic experience. Oscar was enthusiastic & extremely knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make our tour memorable.We saw so many birds, including the elusive Quetzal-mammals and insects that we never would have found on our own-the pictures Oscar took through the spotting scope and shared with us put the trip over the top. Highly recommend!

Fantastic nature and very good guide. We booked two tours and as a bird watcher I was very happy with both tours.
Even if you don’t like birds, Oscar will convince you. Image if you do like birds …

Had a Bird Watching tour with Oscar. Such a wonderful experience. Oscar is knowledgeable about the flying wildlife and does not rush. Patiently, he listens to nature and finds the birds he’s looking for. That made the quetzal not even the highpoint of this trip. So recommend!
Excellent Bird Tour with John in Monteverde, Costa Rica

John met us at our hotel promptly, he was very friendly and knowledgeable! He took my wife and I in his car, it turned out to be a private tour. We stopped nearby to find a number of birds to see and photograph! Inclded was a great bakery breakfast that had a back area bird feeder yielding birds and treats! Next we drove to a bird/wildlife sanctuary, Curi Cancha, where we saw Toucans, hummingbirds and more. Oscar an associate of John helped network finding birds - guides helping each other is a win win. John is so dedicated, he is kind and focused always on the lookout, and attentive to our interests and the pace that suits our abilities. We were able to see all that he pointed out! It was so enjoyable and we got quite few great pictures and learned a lot! We would highly recommend John to anyone for a guide in Monteverde! Scott and Senka
