5.00Manon was our tour guide for the day and as a historian she was well qualified to give us the colorful history of Blenheim Palace as well as helpful tidbits to make us welcome as tourists! Her humor and candor made the tour even more enthralling. We loved visiting Churchill’s favorite place, Woodstock near Blenheim, the Cotswolds village of Bourton on the water, and the village of Bampton, where scenes from Downton Abbey were filmed. The architecture and excessive grandeur of Blenheim were nicely balanced by the quaintness and peacefulness of the countryside. Our coach driver Christian, made sure we stayed safe and kept us from getting lost in any mazes we were tempted to encounter! If Blenheim is on your bucket list, this tour is perfect for you. We enjoyed the day trip.

3.00The tour was fine. Angela was knowledgeable. You really should not allow small children on these tours as there was a child who screamed and cried the whole day.

4.00It was a great trip with an excellent tour leader, Andy Jackson and driver, Christian. Andy was a fount of interesting and informative information and stories but the one thing he and Christian couldn’t do was stretch time. And that was my biggest problem - there was just not enough time at what was supposed to be the highlight of the day, Blenheim Palace. The 90 minute taste I got, however, was enough to encourage me to return one day snd spend much more time wandering around. I also loved the time spent in the beautiful Cotswold villages so I wouldn’t have given that up either. Perhaps it’s best to regard this tour as an appetiser for a longer return visit.
