With Mysterium Tours®, spend approx. 2-hours exploring the exterior of the Buda castle district by night and listen to gruesome historical facts and the bloody side of Hungarian history in the XV-XVII century, and learn the myths of Vlad Dracula and the blood countess Elizabeth Báthory. Finally your Storyteller will tell you Hungarian folktales and vampire stories of the 19° century.

Away from the crowds of Pest, this informative and entertaining tour, guided by a professional actor in period costume, takes you to some of the charming, magical places of the city: the Buda castle courts.

This activity is an immersive storytelling experiences about legends, dark medieval history, tales and folklore.

The tour is more ideal for adults and youth. If you wish to bring your children, they can go for free (up to 6 years old).

Also note this tour starts from the bottom and temporarily includes a stairway leading up the castle district.

This was a great tour. Really enjoyed the experience, even in the snow and cold. Fabian was a fantastic story teller. I would highly recommend this. A great memory from Budapest.

Not what we were expecting. Stories were only very loosely related to Budapest. Not really as advertised. Would prefer just ordinary walking tour of the area instead.

We had a lovely evening with our tour guide 'Flower'. It was a lovely evening walk around the castle and our tour guide had lots of knowledge and told her stories beautifully. Great evening.

I didn’t get our guide’s name but he was really good. He was 60 years and had so much knowledge. It was a fun tour that lasted longer than the estimated limit. Great views of the city. It wasn’t as cold as other nights but who cares? You’re in Budapest and not at home going to work. Lots of stairs but meh… it’s not too bad.

Entertaining tour but sometimes story lines were slightly “padded “ to fill the 90mins. We were however treated to a traditional Hungarian folk song that was hauntingly beautiful as a finale.

I've done a number of these in various cities and we ended up leaving before tour was done. The tour guide was nice but the stories were terrible. He told the same vampire story 3-4 times just changed the city name. After those he just started talking about history which he kept saying may or may not be true. He tried to add some gruesome details about Vlad the Impaler but they weren't accurate. Tour had potential but fell flat.

This tour took too long and the guide didn’t like it when I cracked a joke and got a bigger laugh than him. Oops. A lot of people found the walking element too difficult so avoid if you don’t want to do the steps.
