  Our guide Fabian made this an enjoyable experience. The walk is physically demanding as it took us up several steep flights of steps to reach the Castle area. However, Fabian stopped frequently to enthrall us with tales of vampires and blood thirsty historic figures. His style was inclusive, drawing his audience in and making us laugh to lighten the mood. The Castle and surrounding buildings are stunning, a lot of investment has been made to renovate and redevelop the district. Recommend

  Dress up warm and wear comfy shoes. Take a bottle of water with you. Our guide was fantastic, made the experience so realistic and passed on some much knowledge about the history.

  Our guide Peter was informative, fun and engaging! He was able to recount many historical events and legends with suspense, humour and intrigue. The tour was well-paced with some walking and standing and also having time to take pictures of the different landmarks and statues. The tour was just under 2 hours and was reasonably priced. The meeting point was easy to find and we were with a good sized group of about 13 individuals. We learned a lot of history while also exploring the Buda side at night. We would definitely recommend it!

  I did the Buda Castle District Dark History, Legends and Vampire Night Tour and I’d give it ⭐⭐⭐ (3/5). First of all, our guide Bernadette was great 🙌 She was friendly, engaging, and clearly put effort into making the tour entertaining. She added humour throughout and did her best to bring the stories to life 🧛‍♂️✨ there is only so long you can stretch something out for though. That said, this tour is not ideal for anyone with mobility issues ⚠️ To reach the Castle District, you have to climb over 200 steps uphill. It’s quite a steady climb and some people in the group were visibly exhausted by the time we reached the top 🥵 So definitely keep that in mind before booking. In terms of the “dark history” and “vampire” theme — I was expecting something a bit scarier 👀 The tales weren’t particularly spooky and at times it felt more like a general historical walking tour with some legends added in rather than a chilling night experience. However, the real highlight isn’t necessarily the storytelling — it’s the locations at night 🌙 The Buda Castle area after dark is absolutely stunning. We stopped at several viewpoints overlooking the Danube, and especially Fisherman’s Bastion, which looks incredible when illuminated ✨ The views across to Parliament and the city skyline are breathtaking 📸 Bernadette kindly gave us time to stop and take photos, which I really appreciated. The tour lasted around 1 hour 50 minutes, which felt about right ⏳ Overall, if you’re expecting a genuinely scary vampire experience, you may find it a bit tame.
