What makes our original Foodapest Street Food Tour truly unique, is that the experience is the perfect blend of authentic Hungarian flavors, local storytelling, and intimate group vibes. Unlike standard food tours, we go beyond just eating: we connect you to the culture, history, and people behind each bite.
You’ll taste everything from iconic staples like goulash and chimney cake to lesser-known local favorites, all paired with carefully selected regional wines and spirits. Each stop is a mini cultural deep-dive, guided by locals who share not just food, but the stories and traditions that make Hungary’s cuisine so rich.
With a relaxed, small group setting, this isn’t just a tour, it’s a shared culinary journey where you leave full, inspired, and maybe even with a few new friends.

Our guides were very engaging and sweet. They explained to us not only about the food we were eating but also many Hungarian traditions and customs, including Easter traditions as it was that time of year.

Niki was a wonderful guide. We took our food tour on Easter Sunday and she did an amazing job at every restaurant explaining the food as well as it’s origin and cultural significance of all the dishes and these dishes, so popular in Hungary. We highly recommend this tour with Niki.

Nikki and Lucy were fabulous hosts for our food tasting experience. They described how foods came to be popular in Hungary. They explained the native way to eat chimney cakes and langosh and how many shops have tried to modernize these dishes with extra toppings. We tried several local drinks and learned the local toast. I would recommend this tour.

Emma’s tour was amazing, giving us a real taste of Budapest’s delicious food history! We had such a treat trying traditional dishes like goulash, langos, chimney roll, and meat crepe, among others. We loved them all, and the best part was the palinka shot. It was great that she shared her own stories about these dishes, making the experience feel so personal. Overall, it was a wonderful experiencer.
