Plaza de Mayo

The Plaza de Mayo is the foundational site of Buenos Aires and a symbol of politics, as the scene of the largest popular demonstrations in Argentina. Sorrounded by the Presidential Palace, the ancient City Hall and the Cathedral, the Plaza de Mayo still bears the marks of Peronist marches and the ongoing marches of the Mothers, every Thursday at 3:30 pm.

Caminito

Caminito is a street museum of colourful painted houses, sort of tenements made of wood and sheet metal built by Italian immigrants in the late 19th century. The street was largely abandoned until the 1950s when a group of neighbours decided to clean it up. Since then it has become one the main highlights of Buenos Aires.

Great tour of Buenos Aires. Over 8 hours Matias showed us the important sights, while explaining Argentina’s complex and interesting history. He included certain places we specifically asked to see that were off beaten path. He easy to work with, and very prompt in returning messages.

We were lucky to have my Matias as our guide The first tour was around, Jewish places in Buenos Aires. It help us to know more about the culture and history of this minority. The next tour was Buenos Aires. It was so good, that we needed to extend it for another hour. Thank you, Matias Michael Gurevich

We had the best day with Mattias. As a professor, he has much knowledge about economics, politics and history but makes it all come to life with stories and fun anecdotes. He has a great sense of humor and was fun to be with. He customized the day to exactly meet our needs. We made changes along the way too!! Would seek Mattias out again if we are ever lucky enough to get back to Buenos Aires, the Paris of South America.
