Join us on this tour if you're looking for authentic, home-cooked and street Egyptian food in two different neighborhoods in Cairo. The first area is West Elbalad,downtown Cairo where will be meeting and kicking off with some national drinks. A sense of home-cooked food prepared like Egyptian grandmothers used to cook everyday is so nice. The second area is the iconic of the local Cairo where you can explorer Cairo off beaten pavement, the real lives of people, tuk tuks and the local markets. A sandwich of taameya like typical Cairenes use instead of falafel and a plate of Koshary are authentic experiences between locals! 6+ stops will let your belly dance with the Egyptian food. There is no waste food on our journey, so if you can't finish your portion, vou can take the leftovers or leave it simply to any person in need on the streets. Can't wait and YALLA BINA!

5.00This street food tour was incredible!!! It’s a highlight of my trip! Our guide was hospitable, kind, knowledgeable, and helped us to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I would have never tried the places we went to alone. The Egyptian falafel was a favorite stop! I highly recommend this tour and would go on it again in a heartbeat.

5.00We couldn’t recommend this tour highly enough. It was so enjoyable to spend time with Ahmed and to be introduced to Egyptian culture and food. He was so passionate about the food that we tasted and took great joy in our experiencing new foods. This was an area of Cairo that we’d never have explored without a guide who walked us through the area, explaining the food as we went. Ahmed is so experienced in receiving travellers from all kinds of cultures and countries that sets you at ease from the beginning. More food than we could possibly eat! 😂 And well worth the money and time. If we had more time in Cairo we might have returned for a cooking class or a chance to explore the hidden gems of Cairo.

5.00I cannot say enough good things about Ahmed and his family and the way they lead this tour. First piece of advice - come HUNGRY. You are basically getting a full meal at every stop. And all the food is delicious. Ahmed and his family introduce you to truly local gems - you have the chance to meet the people behind the magic, step into their kitchens, and savor the local cuisine. Each stop offers something new and Ahmed has curated a fun and unforgettable experience. A highlight of our trip.

5.00Had the best experience with Ahmed! As a self proclaimed Foodie I could not have asked for more food or fun than our group had. In addition to the great food at I believe 8 different stops we also got a real taste of how the locals live!! Great value for the cost!!

5.00My partner and I had a fantastic time with Ahmed, on our first night in Cairo and Egypt. The street food tour was amazing value for money, as you get a wide range of local dishes and you will not leave hungry! Not only food, but Ahmed truly gives you a local’s experience. From showing you how Egyptian Falafel is made, to teaching you about the cultural and social backgrounds of the areas and foods you are experiencing, and eating at authentic local hidden gems.

5.00My wife and I had a great time, along with two couples from Lisbon, Portugal and London, England, respectively. Ahmed and his wife, Shorouk, and their 8-year old younger daughter, Maria, displayed absolutely fantastic “family hospitality” to my wife and I, and to the other couples. The authentic Egyptian food we tasted was great at each of the restaurants we visited, and the amount of food given to each of us was enough for an individual meal at each restaurant, except for the bakery, which we visited last. Ahmed and his wife and daughter were very engaging, and explained the importance of the food we ate to family and the Egyptian culture. Ahmed also made sure that one restaurant adjusted the food I was given to accommodate my dietary restrictions, which I greatly appreciated. My strong suggestion to future guests is to (1) come hungry and (2) limit the amount of food you eat at the first couple of restaurants so you will be able to eat and enjoy the food at the remaining restaurants. I am not a big eater normally, and I made a point to limit my intake at each restaurant so I would be able to enjoy the complete full tour. I knew I had struck the right balance with eating as I was able to eat breakfast the very next day without a problem. 👍🏾👍🏾👏🏾👏🏾💯💯🧽🧽 By the way, the tour started at 7pm and lasted until 10:30pm. However, Shorouck and Maria left the group after the second restaurant, so Maria could get ready for school the next day.

5.00We had an amazing food tour experience in Cairo with Ahmed! He took us to many different local restaurants where we tried a huge variety of traditional Egyptian dishes, desserts, and fresh juices. Everything felt authentic and carefully chosen, and it was a great way to experience the real local culture and food scene. Ahmed was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and made sure we enjoyed every moment of the tour. His hospitality and passion for Egyptian food and culture really stood out. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Cairo and wanting a genuine local food experience!

5.00We were so happy with Shorouk for the walking food tour! She was super friendly and warm immediately. She catered the tour for time of the day, allergies ect. As we walked she told us all about egyptian life, architecture, religions, anything going on around us! We were just guttered we did this on our last day because we would have loved to do her cooking class aswell. Would highly recommend!
