El Cajas National Park
Be picked up from you accommodations in the morning and drive for approximately 1 hour to Cajas National Park, located 32km west of Cuenca. Visit the middle part, 3,960 meters, located in the area of Toreadora where you will walk about 1 hour 30 minutes. Along the trek will cross gaps and Polylepis forests and the guide will explain about moorland vegetation. .

Finally, You will visit Tres Cruces Viewpoint at 4160masl. This is a good option for travelers who do not have time for a full day tour

5.00We wanted to escape the city for half a day and this was the perfect tour. Half a day was just long enough - approx 45 mins each way plus a couple of hours hiking around the park. Edison was a good driver / guide who spoke excellent English. Definitely recommend this trip if you’re staying in Cuenca.

5.00Great half day activity at Cajas National Park! Pick up at the hotel without problem. The guide, Edison, knows the park very well and provides information on the ecosystems and flora in place. Hiking and adapted course according to my fitness in this private tour, very appreciated, I highly recommend!!

5.00Sebastián is a fantastic tour guide! 🥇 He has taught us an extremely great deal about the flora and fauna of the national park. His knowledge made the tour a highlight. 5.00I spent a day with Moisés in Cajas Park. He was great. There was a lot of exciting information around the park with flora and fauna, as well as many historical inputs and connections. The tour was individually adapted to me even extended a bit. The park is so beautiful for hiking, you can't get enough. Very well organized, very friendly contact with Edison. Everything worked fine. Certainly one of my highlights on the 2 month trip to Ecuador. I can highly recommend this tour.

5.00I have Moises picking me up in the morning for this half day hiking trip. We started at the view point around 4000m above sea level followed by a 2 hours hiking down hill and up hill along the lakes, streams, grassland and mountains of Cajas National Park. The landscape was breathtaking and Moises had a great knowledge, he explained different plants, faunas and some birds we spotted along the way. In addition Moises also mentioned about other places in Ecuador and even recommended me best places to eat in Cuenca after my hike. Moises has made this trip memorable with his good service and knowledge.
