The Caminito del Rey itself was a very good experience. However, the write up on the Viator description clearly stated that, though the tour went Tuesday, Friday and Sunday, only on Sunday would there be a stop in Asuna. We intentionally chose Friday so we would do the caminito “in the morning” then lunch and back to Seville. Instead we did go to Asuna, then a lunch time at the Caminito site where we killed another 90 min before finally assembling with our tour leader for the hike. We had a limited time in Seville and so much time was wasted doing things we didn’t want to do. Please make the descriptions accurate! We would have sourced another tour company as there were several there doing half day trips, in order to shorten our excursion day.

POSITIVE: The hike was wonderful. The Caminito del Rey is not for those afraid of heights or need fully paved areas to walk. The walkways are narrow so in some areas only one person can proceed at a time. I hiked ahead of my group, finishing at least 30 minutes ahead, as I am a fast walker and not every scene requires a stop for a photo. Our guide did not provide headphones so we did not hear much about the area other than what we were told during the drive and walk to the waiting area. That is fine with me personally. NEGATIVE: I would not select Naturanda again as a tour company. The tour pickup from Hotel Don Paco was 10:00 which is much too late for the driving time and hike so you return over 12 hours later. We were a mix of French speaking and English speaking with different guides/translators. The French group started their hike 1 hour after the English speakers which means there was a wait for them to return. There was also a 2 hour delay waiting for the coach to return for the trip back to Seville. I sent a message during the excursion regarding my displeasure with the long wasteful itinerary, (I also heard others say the same), but was told that the wait wouldn't be that long. The guide directed us to a hotel with a bar and restaurant and we waited for the others to arrive. Boarding the coach it was pitch black and there were no other groups remaining.

The hike itself was absolutely amazing. Maria our tour guide for that part was outstanding. That part I would rate 5 stars. Prior to that we had a different tour guide who gave us minimal information. He walked us around a town. Told us no information about what we were seeing and then brought us to a little bar for food and drinks. We were under the impression that this was where we were having lunch. The bar was so tiny and could not accommodate the amount of people on the tour and had very limited food options. Our next stop was Caminito de Rey. Back in the bus, an hour later we arrived at Caminito del Rey and were told to eat and drink before our hike. Again, the restaurant there could not accommodate the amount of people arriving on the tour buses and was turning people away. There was so much confusion regarding when we were having lunch and where. The two other tour guides to bring everyone on the hikes were late and the. We finally were able to go on our hike. Once we started on the hike, Maria saved the day. She was friendly, personable, and the hike was the whole reason for the excursion anyway. We forgot about the first half of the day. The views were stunning. If I could change the excursion, I would have the bus bring us right to the hike and skip the town and make this a shorter day.

First I want to say that Maria and the hike were a great part of the trip however the logistics and communication getting to and from the hike were not a great experience. First the stop in ousna (which the site says we would not go to because it was not a Sunday) needed to be thought through more. This could be a great part of the stop but all you do is walk through the town with a huge group without seeing a lot and little explanation of the town. Our guide barely talked to anyone outside of two girls which he appeared to know personally. Then when stopping for lunch we were told how important it was to eat and use the bathroom before the next stop because there would not be another chance. We only had about an hour to do this. There were not enough tables to sit everyone in the group and by the time we sat down with other people because they invited us, we only had 20 minutes to order and eat. The staff at the restaurant were also not friendly when trying to get food quickly. All this while the guide ordered food on his own and got to sit in a separate section since he knew the staff without making sure all on the tour were taken care of. This was not a good look. Also while rushing to use the bathroom at the restaurant which only had 1 women’s and 1 men’s stall, we were waiting around for an extra 20 mins before we actually left. Once we did get to the meeting point to start the hike there were a lot more available bathrooms which would have been more convenient to use. Lastly when ending the hike, since we were running behind the guide rushed us all to the bus even leaving some people behind which eventually caught up on there own. Overall logistically not a great experience and cannot recommend to others.

Booking a guided tour was the only last-minute way to get inside... Advice: Book your tickets online WELL IN ADVANCE FOR ALL SPANISH ATTRACTIONS! Tickets tend to be booked in spades by travel agencies who then re-package them into considerably more expensive guided tours. On the positive side, we have walked through this gorge and took in its incredible beauty and the surroundings (an approximately 2-hour walk). The tour company was nice, they accommodated our request to pick us up right at the entrance, not at the official tour pick-up point in Seville, and the guide was upbeat, nice, and provided some additional background info on the path history, fauna, celebrity visitations, etc. A highly recommended experience! (But you can read the story ahead of your visit, book online, and walk the path by yourselves at a fraction of the price if you book well in advance)!

The hike itself was unique and wonderful. The gorge is beautiful. But it was a long day when you go from Seville. You spend a lot of time on the bus. When we got to the trailhead area, we had to wait more than an hour before we started the hike. Too much down time. Would not have done it if I had read all the reviews and known ahead of time.

The hike was excellent but to only provide one overpriced option for lunch was disappointing, other options should be made available

Super nice day with Karlos and Álvaro as guides. It is a beautiful hike that you should definitely do if you get the chance. Beautiful views that cannot be expressed in photos or videos. We enjoyed it!
