After 2 hours drive we will arrive at the village,after a short break we will hike up to the wall in 10 minutes .Then we will have about 3 hours on the wall untill the sunset.As the sun begins its descent towards the jagged horizon, the Great Wall undergoes a breathtaking metamorphosis. The harsh, grey stone of the day softens, bathed in a warm, incandescent glow. It starts subtly – a gentle gilding of the highest parapets and watchtowers. Then, like molten gold spilling across the land, the light intensifies, washing over the serpentine ridges and plunging valleys the Wall so defiantly traverses. Then we go back to the village for dinner and then we go up to the wall again to set the tents .

See the sunrise.As the first pale light creeps into the eastern sky, the ancient stones of the Great Wall emerge from the deep blue shadows, a sinuous silhouette etched across the mountain ridges. Slowly, the horizon ignites – streaks of molten orange and soft pink bleed upwards. Suddenly, the sun's fiery rim breaches the distant peaks, exploding in a burst of blinding gold. Long shadows stretch dramatically across the weathered battlements as the warm light floods the valleys, bathing the endless, undulating wall in a radiant glow. Mist swirls in the ravines below. Standing atop this stone dragon, bathed in the dawn's pure light, one feels the profound silence and whispers of history, witnessing a truly breathtaking testament to both nature and humankind. After that we pack our stuffs and go back to the village for a simple breakfast, and then goback to the city area.

5.00I've been on this tour twice now - Peter is a fantastic tour guide, as is Noodle (also great name). Both experiences were absolutely unforgettable. If you're looking for an authentic, off-the-beaten-path adventure, this is it. Peter is a fantastic host—warm, funny, and incredibly attentive to the needs of his guests. From the moment you arrive, you can tell he genuinely cares about making your experience special. His knowledge of the Wall and the surrounding area is amazing, and he makes sure you’re comfortable every step of the way. The section of the Great Wall we camped is amazing—far from the crowds of the more touristy parts. This area feels truly authentic, with much of the Wall still in its original, less-reconstructed state, and the views of the mountains and countryside are breathtaking. According to Peter, the best time is during a full moon! One of the most memorable parts of the experience was the home-cooked dinner Peter organised at a local family’s house. This gave us an incredible insight into the region’s cuisine and a real feel for traditional life in rural China. The family was so welcoming and friendly—it felt like we were part of their home. Then, the next day, Peter took us to an outstanding Peking Duck restaurant back in Beijing—a perfect way to cap off the trip. I honestly think this has been the best thing I’ve done in China. If you’re looking for something more authentic and truly immersive, Peter’s camping trips on the Great Wall should be at the top of your list!

5.00Every step of the way Peter had everything planned very well. We never felt rushed, but we got everywhere on time. We got to experience so much even with our limited time, and I would highly recommend the trip to anyone. The food stops were great, the Great Wall was amazing, and it was all around and incredible and worry free adventure.

5.00I was visiting during Golden Week and so it was one of the busiest times of the year yet Peter found us a quiet area of the Wall that wasn’t crowded with tourists. It was one of my top ten experiences that I’ve ever done, definitely recommend!

5.00My boyfriend and I did this in May and again in October! Peter is the best guide and the part of the wall he brings you to is so cool! It’s not crowded at all and feels so special. It’s definitely something you should do if you want to see the wall! 10/10 recommend.
