We had an early start at 5.30am but Sophia our guide was wonderful. The history and information she provided brought everything to life. We got the opportunity to visit a home stay, mini cooking class of Vietnamese pancakes while there. We clambered over and delved into the houseboats on at the river, provided with great coffee and fresh orange juice and noodle soup breakfast while visiting the market. Very engaging morning and highly recommended. We were back at the dock at 11.30.

I went on a tour to the Cai rang market and surrounding area today. I loved it! It was so interesting to see the people living and trading, I feel lucky to see it before it becomes a thing of the past. The tour was well thought out - it was interesting to visit the small village, and I loved being invited into the boat people's home. Our tour guide was Sophia, and she was the best tour guide I've had - so caring, friendly, engaging, and fun! It was such a privilege to meet her and be on her trip. I was really sad to see all of the trash in the canals, and hope that one day single use plastics will be banned, and perhaps in the meantime, government or the tour companies that make their living from the river can engage in a clean up project.

This is the non-touristy, off-the-beaten path tour we wanted in Can Tho! And our guide Cory delivered. His pride in and passion for his southern Vietnam culture was evident in how he explained life along the Mekong River. We enjoyed his company and his knowledge. Our favourite part of the tour was the boat ride.

The trip was super cool. The floating market was very interesting and also the drive through the river channel. We had a very nice boater who bought us extra fruit and pastries to try and explained to us during the trip palm trees, plants, fruits etc. There were only two of us on the boat, everything relaxed and no tourist hassle. The proceeds went directly to the boater, which we found very good. We can only recommend this!

Absolutely wonderful experience. We didn't know what to expect. Our guide, Quyen was knowledgeable, straightforward and warm. There was sunrise coffee, tropical fruits galore, delicious breakfast, a village tour, and more. We felt part of a small temporary family, it was so well done. Highly recommended!

We booked the tour at Nguyen Ngoc Quyen as a family with 2 children and it was really very nice. We exchanged a lot of profound content, laughed and enjoyed. She never rushed us and shared a lot of great and valuable content about the Vietnamese. I'm not exaggerating when I say that our best tour guide had it so far. Even with the children she helped where it was possible, whether it was to feed the big one or to entertain the baby. Thanks for everything!

Our 6-hour tour was the highlight of our trip! We started with a delicious breakfast soup and fresh drinks (coconut and orange juice) right on the water. We explored the floating market and cruised through the beautiful, narrow canals of the Mekong. A special highlight was visiting a local home where we cooked and ate together—a truly authentic experience. On our way back, we even got fresh fruit from a merchant boat. Our guide, Sunny, was fantastic! With his background in Agriculture, he taught us so much about local plants, herbs, and fruits. He was incredibly helpful, sharing great travel tips for all of Vietnam. Even the lady steering our boat was super sweet, making us feel welcome the whole time despite the language barrier. If you want an authentic, educational, and heartwarming experience away from the crowds, this is it. Highly recommended – ask for Sunny! PS: No fotos of Mekong from me as you are supposed to make your own experience. ;)

Nice experience: we explored the mekong with a small boat and a group of only 4 people. The guide, Cory, has excellent English and explained many interesting things about his land, culture, food and other curiosities. We had breakfast among the floating market boats and ate lots of fresh fruit from local families living on houseboats. Recommended

I had the pleasure of spending the last 6 hours with our guide Cory and travelers from France and China on this intimate 6 person tour. Cory explains how the floating market has changed over time to what it is today in magnificent detail. He even explained the cultural/social anthropology of the Vietnamese people comparing southern Vietnamese people to those from the north. You might think this sounds boring but on the contrary, it was fascinating. We got a really great inside look into the people of the region but particularly those on the floating markets. We got an early morning look as the market was coming to life and the sun was coming up over the horizon, then had a Hủ Tiếu noodle breakfast made fresh from a vendor on the river. We then rode deep into a tributary and took a walk at the perfect time to get the legs stretched after sitting so long before our group teamed together to cook Bánh Khọt "mini pancakes" that we rolled in greens like a spring roll and dipped in a sweet and sour fish sauce! DELICIOUS! On our way back we stopped and boarded a boat on the floating market. Cory explained in great detail how this family lives, both the hardships and the hope for the future in the two youngest children who attend school. They may not have a lot but they do have great pride and do not take handouts. They only take money for services rendered - freshly cut fruit and hospitality on their boat, their home. You just want to hug the oldest daughter who stays home and sells on the floating market because she was bullied in school. Though they have a tough life, they are happy and fulfilled from a hard day's work. There were only smiles as we departed and made our way back home. A simply unforgettable experience.
