  I had the pleasure of spending the last 6 hours with our guide Cory and travelers from France and China on this intimate 6 person tour. Cory explains how the floating market has changed over time to what it is today in magnificent detail. He even explained the cultural/social anthropology of the Vietnamese people comparing southern Vietnamese people to those from the north. You might think this sounds boring but on the contrary, it was fascinating. We got a really great inside look into the people of the region but particularly those on the floating markets. We got an early morning look as the market was coming to life and the sun was coming up over the horizon, then had a Hủ Tiếu noodle breakfast made fresh from a vendor on the river. We then rode deep into a tributary and took a walk at the perfect time to get the legs stretched after sitting so long before our group teamed together to cook Bánh Khọt "mini pancakes" that we rolled in greens like a spring roll and dipped in a sweet and sour fish sauce! DELICIOUS! On our way back we stopped and boarded a boat on the floating market. Cory explained in great detail how this family lives, both the hardships and the hope for the future in the two youngest children who attend school. They may not have a lot but they do have great pride and do not take handouts. They only take money for services rendered - freshly cut fruit and hospitality on their boat, their home. You just want to hug the oldest daughter who stays home and sells on the floating market because she was bullied in school. Though they have a tough life, they are happy and fulfilled from a hard day's work. There were only smiles as we departed and made our way back home.   I had an incredibly great experience on the Mekong. Our guide Cory was incredibly nice and had lots of interesting facts and information along the way. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to experience the floating market and parts of the Vietnamese culture around the Mekong as it is now.

  We really liked the tour. Our tour guide Thao was really great and explained everything in very good English and gave insights into the life of the people of the Mekong Delta. It was a very small group with four people, which made the tour very pleasant. We also found it particularly interesting to take a closer look at a boat on which people live. (The only pity was all the garbage floating in the river and on the bank, but Thao can't help it, of course.)

  Sunny was an awesome guide and the tour was really special. Small boat, good pacing, didn’t feel rushed and hyper-touristic. Worth getting up early for.

  This morning I arrived at the agreed meeting point and learned that there were only three of us on the tour: our guide Sunny, another participant and me. That was great because it made the tour feel very private and almost exclusive. First we went by boat to the floating market. Afterwards we went through small, idyllic canals to a private house where we cooked together in the traditional way. After lunch we returned to the floating market and visited one of the houseboats there. The absolute highlight of the tour was our guide Sunny. He explained everything down to the smallest detail and created an incredibly relaxed and fun atmosphere with his humor. I've hardly laughed on a tour like this.   The tour was absolutely great, less touristy and relaxed. We highly recommend our guide Sophia, who spoke excellent english, was extremely funny and talkative.   Sophie is one the best guides I've used. Full of interesting information and has a wonderful and quirky sense of humour Three of us went to the floating market and beyond. The floating market is just the first part of the tour. Beyond that we had noodles on the river then a tour up one of the small canals (big tourist boats can't go here) to visit a homestay and cook my local dish and eat some delicious fruit. On the way back we stopped at the floating market again but this time went on to one of the barges to have a closer look at how people live on the water. I have been lucky to do tours all over the world and I would have to rate this as one of the most enjoyable I've ever done.
