Waterfall rappelling and the chocolate tour are two exciting tours that will introduce you to both the nature and culture of Costa Rica. You will be driven 5 minutes outside of downtown La Fortuna to the chocolate tour where you will learn about, taste, and see how chocolate is made from bean to bar. You will also take a short oxcart ride and have the opportunity to purchase a selection of artisanal chocolate. After the tour, you’ll head to the Pure Trek headquarters for a delicious organic lunch and then to the glorious Pure Trek canyon for waterfall rappelling. Get ready for an exciting afternoon of rappelling down tropical waterfalls, rock climbing, river hiking and the Monkey Drop (you will get wet!)

The guides were very friendly and made us feel safe rappelling down five beautiful waterfalls ranging 175ft to 80ft high. It was an adrenaline fueled, once-in-a-lifetime experience that I will never forget. So, so fun and I would 10/10 do it again. PURA VIDA 💕

A friend recommended Pure Trek and it did not disappoint! The chocolate tour guide was knowledgeable, fun and funny. Waterfall rappelling was awesome! Diego was helpful, understanding and patiently fielded all of our questions. We always felt informed and safe. Several 70ish in our group. Just do it!

Once in a lifetime experience in Costa Rica! Make no mistake, this is not the easiest of adventure experiences, but the guides make it enjoyable and fun, even if you’re a rookie. The Pure Trek grounds are gorgeous and we all enjoyed the authentic lunch. Jorge was helpful, kind, and funny… and the whole team was excellent. We, and our kids, felt very safe and it was a thrilling afternoon!

From pickup to drop off this day was stress free. Chocolate tour was amazing, with covered walkways so rain won’t matter, stations set up to teach different parts of the chocolate making and ended with making our own chocolate bars. Rappelling was fun, safe, and beautiful. Lunch was nice, but small. Bathrooms, lockers, and changing rooms are clean, and well designed.

Chocolate tour was so much fun, everyone was so nice and knowledgeable. We loved making our own personal chocolate bar. The waterfall rappelling was one of the most fun things we’ve ever done. The guides were fun, professional, and they worked so hard to make it the perfect experience. Fantastic traditional lunch, wonderful coffee too. Can’t recommend them enough.

This was one of the best things we did in Costa Rica!! The staff were all fantastic, and the waterfall repelling was so much fun, and a once in a lifetime experience. The chocolate tour was as educational and fun as it was delicious. I would recommend anyone visiting the area book this tour!

Really exciting!!! I felt a lot of adrenaline at one of the falls, their excellent Service staff. Cinthia the owner of this beautiful paradise a very human woman, full of charisma!! Satisfied with this experience and gift at the same time!!!
