Visiting Cape Coast/Elmina Slave Dungeon is a must see, more than a tour, an experience, when you visit Accra, Ghana. Citizen Tours, Kwame & Yaw were our private and exceptional guides. Even the drive to Elmina, was filled with historical facts and information about local sights. The Canopy Walkway Tour was beautiful and breathtaking, also a once in a life time experience. Yaw and Kwame of Citizen Tours, throughout the day were our hosts and we always felt safe and attended to. We highly recommend them for your trip too!

I had a great day trip from Accra to Kakum National Park and Elmina Castle. Yaw from Citizen Tours was a great guide and safe driver on the road. The tour is recommended for those who want to combine the beauty of the country with the shocking history of slavery. Elmina Castle tells this history through its impressive dungeons and rooms. Many men and women were forcefully taken from Ghana to the New World. They are the ancestors of many who now live in the Americas and Europe. Elmina Castle is not be missed by their descendants and all others who want to know more of the history of the Dutch in Ghana.

The best tour guides , Kwame & Yaw and our driver we’re above and beyond . I had the pleasure of taking this tour for my bday and they made it special with surprises!! They were personally some of the best humans we encountered answered our million questions about culture and history The was the highlight of our travels to Accra Lemon beach lunch was phenomenal The tour in the castle is emotional brace yourselves. Pro Tips : Pack some snacks that ride to cape coast is definitely long and a bit bumpy but we’ll worth it .

The history of Elmina was by far the must interesting and educational. My tour guide was prompt and offered much assistance. The local food was also great to experience and I will definitely return in the future.
