This is the spot that the ancient Athenians chose to honor their god Poseidon, within a fortress constructed to protect their coastline.

Our drivers are not official tour guides, but they are knowledgeable and can provide fascinating commentary in fluent English. Although they will not enter the archaeological sites with you, they can answer all of your questions about the places you visit with this tour.
The Temple of Poseidon at Sounio is closing 30 minutes before sunset. The sunset from November to April is around 17:00.
Third party activities and especially extreme sports are not allowed during the tour. This can be a cause for immediate cancellation of the tour.

Glyfada is a suburb in South Athens located in the Athens Riviera. It is situated in the southern parts of Athens' urban area. The area stretches from the foot of the Hymettus mountain to the Saronic Gulf. It is the largest of Athens' southern suburbs.

5.00My friend & I decided to book a last minute tour after we disembarked from a cruise ship. We found this sunset private tour to Cape Sounio, to visit the Temple of Poseidon & Lake Vouliagmeni, with good ratings, & decided to book it. We weren't disappointed. Dimitrios is professional, knowledgeable & friendly. He drove us through some main sights in the city, & provided us with historical information. He also took us to a pretty little church with great views, & took pictures for us. We stopped by Lake Vouliagmeni, but didn't swim. The best part of our tour was to be able to see sunset at the Temple of Poseidon. It was really beautiful. I highly recommend this tour.

5.00Our guide Spiros was excellent. he explained everything thoroughly and knew the country very well. We stopped the long the route and observed many beautiful sites. The temple of Poseidon was breathtaking. It was a lovely tour and a lovely day.

5.00This is a super nice tour from Athens along the beautiful shoreline, allowing for some stunning views of the coast. The highlight is the Temple of Poseidon, which - if visited late in the day - has one of the most magical sun sets I have ever seen. My driver, Fotis, was super friendly and professional and, additionally, gave me lots of tips about things to see in Athens. I highly recommended this trip.

5.00We did a few tours in Athens and this was by far the one we enjoyed most. Our guide Alexandro was outstanding. The ride to Sounio takes about 2 hours and he kept a steady conversation on interesting topics about Greece, Greek history and the geography we were driving past (along the coast). The tour as itself is worth it, the Temple of Poseidon and the sunset there were amazing. 10/10
