5.00Parking in Cardiff, like most of the UK, can be quite challenging for tourists. I highly recommend booking a hotel near the castle meeting point or taking the rail in. Because we had a rental car and struggled finding parking, even in the off season of February, we were late to the start of our tour. Our guide, Ildi, was so gracious and helpful. She even invited us to have a coffee and a quick reset before starting the official tour but while still discussing what to expect. This wasn't a typical walking tour this was an experience. Ildi isn't "just" a tour guide, she's an incredibly knowledgeable art enthusiast. My partner and I were so impressed with her vast knowledge of art, architecture, and history. Our visit inside the National Museum Cardiff was extraordinary. She knew so much about famous, local and favored artists. We would have happily spent the entire day just listening to her vast knowledge of artwork. The walking tour had so many hidden gems that we never would have discovered without our amazing tour guide's knowledge. If you have the opportunity to take this tour, I can't recommend it highly enough.
