Gain a little insight into Dominican culture with a Caribbean cooking experience in Roseau! At a local home up in the hills, you’ll cook traditional Caribbean dishes and learn about the native fruits, vegetables and herbs used in Caribbean cuisine. Then sip some rum punch and enjoy your creations with your fellow food lovers! Morning and afternoon classes are available, and round-trip transport from the port in Roseau is included.

One of the top highlights of our cruise! What an amazing experience! Caribbean Cooking with Daria was hands-on, flavorful, and so much fun. I was given the honor being the Sous Chef for the class. Daria’s passion for Caribbean cuisine shines through in everything she does. The dishes were full of bold, authentic flavors, and she explained each step in a way that was easy to follow. I bought the cookbook, and am excited to share the love of Caribbean cooking with family and friends.

The ride up to Daria’s place was interesting (very steep road) but once we got up there, we were amazed at how stunning the view was. Daria was passionate about her cooking and informative & very entertaining, too, as we prepared our delicious meal. I would totally recommend this excursion to anyone!

Great venue . Authentic carribbean receipts. Hands on class. We had curried marlin, beans and rice from scratch, plantains two ways and a salad. As good as any cooking experience as I have had. Just do it if you get a chance.

Our day with Cooking with Daria was truly unforgettable. The experience began when her husband picked us up from the port and drove us high into the mountains to their stunning home. There, nestled in the hills, we learned to prepare an authentic Caribbean lunch in their breathtaking outdoor kitchen, surrounded by lush tropical beauty. Daria is a wonderful teacher who seamlessly weaves together culinary instruction with fascinating stories about Dominica’s rich food culture and history. Beyond cooking, she shared her extensive knowledge of herbal medicine and took us through her thriving garden, making the experience both educational and inspiring. The setting alone is worth the visit—it felt like stepping into a dream. Before leaving, we explored Daria’s charming gift shop, which features her handcrafted spice blends, herbal teas, and her own cookbook—perfect mementos of an extraordinary day.

Great experience with good Dominican cuisine! Lovely location! Tip, drive up to the cooking class very difficult so get a driver.

We were picked up from our hotel and driven high into the mountains to Daria's beautiful house. We were greeted by Daria with a welcome golden apple juice and immediately started cooking. Daria gave us explanations on every ingredient we used infused with historical information. We all got a chance to experience cooking. Daria also explained medicinal use of a wide variety of plants. We then sampled 4-5 different infused rums. After food was ready we ate what we prepared and enjoyed every one of them.

We enjoyed the drive up to the house where Daria and her staff were waiting to welcome us. Everything was ready for us at the large cooking area. Daria was funny, informative and warm as she guided us through the cooking process. At the end we enjoyed the meal we had helped prepare. The mountaintop location was cool and comfortable. It was a lovely way to spend the day.

What a fun and tasty treat experience. Daria does a wonderful job teaching and sharing her knowledge of Caribbean cooking. The food we helped prepare was guite delicious. You learned a lot .
