What sets this adventure apart is the expertise of our certified local interpreter, who brings deep knowledge of the area and its rich history. Join us for an off-the-beaten-path hiking and caving experience in El Sistema de Cuevas Arenales in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico.

We’ll begin with a scenic walk alongside a river in the north-central part of the island, far from the usual tourist crowds. Immerse yourself in nature as we jump off canyon cliffs, swim through stunning caves, and learn about the history of the Taíno natives of Puerto Rico.

Please note that this is not a private tour. Transportation is included from a designated meeting point.

Embark on an exhilarating adventure at Charco Azul, where we’ll explore three unique caves nestled in a lush rainforest in the heart of the island. This tour offers a range of experiences from moderate to challenging, depending on your fitness level. We’ll start with a hike down to the river, where a thrilling jump marks the beginning of our adventure. Swim through the crystal-clear turquoise waters of the caves, discover a hidden waterfall, leap off canyon cliffs, and marvel at ancient Taino native markings. This tour can take around 7 hours from pickup to drop-off depending on the group. Charco Azul & Cuevas Arenales translates to Blue Pool & Sand Cave and is located in Vega Baja, PR.

Amazing adventure. Tour guides (Mara and Abdiel) were fabulous. Cliff jumping, hiking, swimming thru caves in such a beautiful part of the island. Highly recommend the experience.

Charco Azul is an unforgettable adventure. The water is stunning turquoise, the caves feel magical, and the waterfalls are refreshing and beautiful. The guides were extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and made everything feel safe and smooth, especially through the slippery trails and deeper swim sections. Their support genuinely elevated the experience. Wear water-friendly shoes and bring a waterproof phone case. Highly recommend and would absolutely do it again!

Today we did the cave adventure, a 2–3 hour hike that included cliff diving, swimming through magical caves, seeing bats, and even waterfalls. It was an absolutely amazing experience. The other couple ended up not joining, so it turned into a private tour, which we loved. Abdiel is very knowledgeable and clearly passionate about what he does. He made the tour super fun while also making us feel extremely safe the entire time, always guiding us on where to step and what to do. He gave us such a memorable experience and is a fantastic guide. Highly recommend!

My husband and I really enjoyed the Cave adventure! The three guides were very knowledgeable and helpful. One in particular went beyond in helping me: Delia Isabel! and super encouraging going up 🤗😂. We missed the group photo because we were the last to reach the top 😂.. the hill 🫣

What an amazing day! Abdiel and Delia were our guides. They made sure we had an adventure exploring the caves and jumping from three cliffs. Our 11 year old cannot stop talking about it. Says it was the best excursion that we did this trip. The communication from start to finish was top notch and the transportation on time and accommodating. We even stopped for lunch after the 11 am tour and the food at Tortugerara was delicious. Abdiel answered all our kid's questions and was such a delight. Highly recommend!

Had a great time. Fun/ knowledge guides. Saw waterfalls and the cliff jumps were awesome. Seeing the cave was cool and there was wildlife.

Amazing, very friendly people. Was beyonf what I expected. Water might feel a bit cold but you adjust to it. Would recommend to everyone!

Our guides were amazing. We had Enrique, Mara and Abdiel. This company worked with all skill levels and all ages. Our group had ages between 16 and 69, and our guide found a way for everyone to master the entire tour. Do not bring anything with you on this tour. They provide a life vest and helmet. You will be swimming through cave systems and cliff jumping to get to the next part of the tour. A phone is not even needed. The guide takes pictures and sends them to you for free. Highly highly recommend this tour and company. Best part of our trip.

Leeanna and guides were super friendly and knowledgeable. Not only was the caving a ton of fun, the guides also provided history of the caves, geography, and environment. We saw bats, freshwater crabs, and native carvings in the rocks. Guides spoke perfect English and was easy to get to parking location. After we did caving we went to an awesome taco and burrito stand a couples miles away, get the chicken burrito and $1.5 beer!!!!
