  We were very fortunate to have Adi as our private driver and tour guide. Arrived at the cruise terminal facing a day with torrential rain. Adi was able to plan the hours we had available to see such beautiful sites, inspite of the rain. Magical Ulun Danu Beratan floating temple. Famous Luwak Coffee. Authentic Balinese home cooked food. • Celukan monsoon

  Our guide Budi was fantastic but he was up against terrible weather conditions to get around our selected destinations . In the end after a wonderful trip to the Buddhist Monastery be elected to return to the ship.

  ARDITA was a fabulous and informative guide with a great sense of humour. Celukan Bwang was beautiful and we enjoyed the hot springs.

• An Alternative Taxi Tour

  After a rough start with the tour guide arriving late, then his car wouldn’t start and he wanted us to wait until a friend would come to fix it, but instead we asked for a new driver. He obliged and set us up with an independent taxi driver, Astika who took us around the island. As the weather was very rainy we couldn’t see many of the itinerary spots, but he tried to give us a memorable experience anyway. There is a lot of driving involved and we spent many hours in the car and only stopped at a coffee plantation, the Brahma Buddhist temple and another temple, all of which were lovely. As the weather began to improve, our driver offered to stop at a lunch spot or at the hot springs, but after our late start in the morning, we were ready to head back to the ship. I do recommend Astika as a driver as he drove safely, had a reliable car, and shared much about his culture and life and in northern Bali. Unfortunately, he didn’t accompany us into the temples so we didn’t glean any additional information on our stops. Nor did we have a way to contact him, so when we finished our tours, we had to just hope we could find him. This was only really problematic at the Hindu temple, but getting his coordinates ahead of time would have been very smart on our part. This review does not reflect what Saka Bali Putu Tours is able to provide, as that wasn’t possible, but that alone may speak volumes! I am actually grateful that the original driver’s car broke down in the parking lot. Reliable vehicles are mandatory for the travel distance and I would truly hate to be stuck hours away from the port with unreliable transportation. Thank you to Astika for filling in so admirably, for being so kind and for sharing his life so willingly.

• Great day in Bali

  We weren’t aware that the tour included a 2km hike to the waterfall but since it was a rainy day we had to change the plan. Instead our guide took us to a magnificent Buddhist temple which we loved. We also enjoyed seeing the jungle hot springs and Lovina Beach.

  Lots of driving between attractions. It was very rainy today. The driver (Buti) had umbrellas. This was a big help. Considering bringing raincoats for extra protection. Sites were great and the drive excellent. Floating temple was beautiful.

  Madok was our safe driver and tour guide. He took us to see the beautiful floating temple, Ulan Danu Bratan temple. He took very good care of us. We had to cut our private tour short as I stepped on a nail and he helped immensely with my medical attention. He even stopped at a pharmacy for us. He got a wheel chair for me at the port. We really appreciate all of his assistance and help. We asked him questions about Indonesia and he answered our questions.

  Hendricks was an excellent tour guide, he was friendly and very helpful. We discussed what was important for us to see and do for the time we had available and he adjusted the tour accordingly.

  My friend and I hired a driver with Saka Bali Puta Tours during a short cruise stop at Celukan Bawang, and honestly, it was one of the highlights of our entire Australia/Indonesia trip. Because we limited time in port, timing mattered — a lot. Missing the ship was simply not an option. Krisna immediately put us at ease with his punctuality and calm confidence navigating the logistics. Driving in Bali is chaotic and the winding mountain roads of North Bali add another layer, but Krisna is an Excellent driver. We felt safe the entire time. Just as important, he was warm, professional, and genuinely proud to share his home. We arrived with only vague ideas of what we wanted to see, and quickly decided to trust Krisna to shape the day — a very wise choice. What followed felt like a gentle mini-immersion into Balinese culture. He shared insights in a natural, conversational way, knew the area well, and was consistently thoughtful about our comfort and needs — bottled water, photo opportunities, and even umbrellas when the rain rolled in. For a short port day, the experience felt surprisingly rich and unhurried. Our time in North Bali ended up being a true standout moment of the trip, and I would absolutely recommend Krisna to anyone looking for a safe, authentic, and well-paced experience.
