My wife and I had an amazing Central Park Photo Safari experience! Zim was fun and interesting, and helped us to learn so much in the time that we had. We learned how to make the most of both our dedicated camera and phone cameras to compose great shots. It was an amazing and unique way to explore part of Central Park!

I took five different photo safaris on this trip - 4 were with Zim (WTC, Central Park, Iconic NY 1, Iconic NY 2) and one was with David (Brooklyn Bridge). I enjoyed working with both of them - David was easy to talk with and gave me a lot of insight into living in NYC. He also has a good eye for noting interesting light. Zim excels at explaining photo concepts at the level of the photographer - one person there was an absolute beginner, while I'm more advanced. She did a great job differentiating the instruction so both of us were challenged and learned. She is also very picky and "compassionately direct" in her critiques of photos. I never felt like I had done something wrong; instead, I thought I could learn to critically look and improve.

What a great time! We learned so much about our cell phone cameras. We learned about angles, depth, timers, and the best way to take selfies. I've deleted tons of selfies in the past...no more! The setting in Central Park was perfect.

I greatly enjoyed my photography experience and time with Zim this past Saturday morning - I learned so much! As a beginning photographer, I appreciate everything she taught me. She gave me many good tips and techniques as well as encouragement to build my confidence in photography using beautiful Central Park as a back drop. Time well spent !

Zim is great. She offered amazing tips on composition and light. She was extremely helpful and endlessly patient. Although I'm a rank beginner, I left feeling like a semi-pro.

I recently had the pleasure of participating in a photography lesson tour in Central Park, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! From the moment we met our instructor, Zim, it was clear that we were in for a treat. Zim was not only knowledgeable about photography techniques but also deeply passionate about the beauty of Central Park itself.

This was a really cool experience! Zim is knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and not only knows how to take a great photo but can explain what makes it great and how to get similar results. I took some film photography classes in high school and wanted to get back to a hobby I used to enjoy but figured digital would be a more practical version. I signed up for the Photo Safari to gain a better understanding of how to use my camera effectively and get some tips to tweak my composition. Zim really helped me figure out the camera (and told me about all the better technologies that have developed since I bought the camera) and took the time to explain some of the more technical aspects of composing photos, which I found really fascinating. She broke it down in a way that was easy to understand and gave me practical tips I could immediately apply. I highly recommend this tour. I will hopefully be purchasing a camera made sometime this decade and can't wait to put everything I learned into practice!

Nice tour of Central Park's center, centered around photography technique, since there were only two of us on that chilly autumn morning. Review photos were taken with a vintage-reproduction LLL 28mm 9e and a vintage-style Thypoch 50mm Eureka f/2. Look ma! No aspherical elements!
