Exploring the Kathmandu Valley is a truly fascinating way to explore the beauty of the Mighty Himalayas. The Chandragiri to Taudaha Nature Day Hiking features all of the beauty of the world’s highest peaks, along with a cable car trip and two important Hindu pilgrimage sites. This trip can start at 8:30 am and easily take a full day with five hrs trekking duration, fantastic scenic views as well as a jungle experience.
Note: We cannot guarantee the trip if the Cable car stops due to technical problems or any other circumstances. A full refund will be provided or provide alternative hikes proposed by the operator.

The Chandragiri Nature Day Hiking Trip to Taudaha begins around 8:30 am when your representative of Himalayan Planet Adventures picks you up at your hotel and takes you by private vehicle to the start of the Chandragiri Cable Car. The journey to the top of Chandragiri Hill (Elev. 2,520 m) takes just 10 actions packed minutes as you rise above the jungles below. The higher the elevation, the more of the panoramic views of the lofty Himalayan peaks come into view. From on top, stand and gaze at the various mountain ranges from the Annapurnas in the west to Mt. Everest, the world’s tallest peak in the east. Here you will find the Bhaleshwor Mahadev Temple, a major pilgrimage site for Hindus. After standing in awe of the amazing mountains, follow along the ridge for more incredible views of the Himalayas. After two hours, stop for tea at Jiban Safal Hotel before continuing on to the next pilgrimage site of Champa Devi for more great views. Continue on before turning down on the trail to Taudaha, The final hour descends through the jungles where wildflowers grow in abundance, taking one hour where your car awaits you. Total time is around nine hour’s full-day Hiking around Kathmandu.

5.00An amazing hike with great views of Kathmandu! Make sure to bring sunscreen and plenty of water as it is an all day hike. Shishir was an amazing guide definitely recommend him!

5.00This was a perfect day! Our Hiking from Chandragiri to Taudaha has exceeded our expectations. We have been lucky to get a very good view of the mountain range and our guide Shishir gave us lots of informations. Also perfect for me was the trail itself without cars and motorcycles, providing us with lots of nice locations with fantastic views of the mountain range and the Kathmandu valley. Thank you Shishir for a perfect day.

5.00I had such a lovely day with Pankaj at Chandragiri hills! I was feeling kind of sick and so we hiked down the hill a way and then back up which was perfect for me. There is also a lot to do and see at the top of the hill. Pankaj was fun to talk with and taught me all about the temple. He was very kind and took good care of me. If you do the full hike it is a very long day but the forest is beautiful so it would be worth it! I highly recommend!!

5.00Som is a fantastic guide with a genuine passion for guiding and an absolute wealth of knowledge. I learnt a lot from him. Guide and drivers were punctual, and communication with the tour company was good. The trail itself is beautiful and I can only imagine how spectacular it would be if it wasn’t a cloudy day, as we couldn’t see any of the big mountains and mountain ranges surrounding us. Som can communicate in both English and Chinese, is also extremely interested in Chinese culture and language so I would recommend him to anybody looking for a guide who can speak Chinese. Break at the tea house was lovely, and picnic lunch was a simple but delicious takeaway at a scenic spot. Lots of steps so would NOT recommend for anybody with knee problems. Some slippery and muddy sections, hiking poles might be helpful. Trail is not too difficult but moderate fitness required, you get quite huffy puffy going uphill! The only thing I was disappointed with was all the rubbish. Nothing to do with the tour or company, but it was an absolute eyesore. Nepal is blessed with so much natural beauty, I wish the government and local people would take more initiative in taking care of the land! Thank you for a great day.

5.00The trip starts with a wonderful hindou temple, on top of the mountains where we were lucky enough to see a ceremony! And then we went up and down the hills, on and on again! On the old trail from Nepal to India. Magnificent view points on the Himalayas are permanent companions of this soft hike.

5.00My tour guide was Som who was excellent and very kind. The hike itself was fantastic the entire hike you get panoramic views of the Himalayas and Kathmandu valley. It’s like nothing I have ever seen before. The hike it’s self wasn’t too hard but definitely not easy there were some stairs as well that you would climb up and down near the end. All around a hike that I can definitely recommend and my tour guide and driver were great.

5.00If you are in Kathmandu, you do not want to miss this trip. The sceneries are amazing. Ik is not an easy walk but afterwards you will feel very satisfied! My guide was good company, explaining a lot and sharing stories.

5.00Had a great day hiking. Beautiful views even though there was some low cloud. Shirshir was an excellent guide who is very knowledgeable and makes the hiking experience a lot of fun. Would recommend this hike to anyone looking to explore the beautiful mountains near to Kathmandu.

5.00Was one of the most beautiful days i had in Nepal. I was taken care of by my friendly trekking tour guide Shishir who was very caring and patient. His main concern was how to make it a special and happy day tailored to my own pace. This trek could be a good training/ warmup before heading one of the Nepalee's trekking ventures, the views from the top were simply amazing, the lunch box was so yammy .... Thanks a lot to Shishir who successfully made it a great day, and special thanks to our friendly and professional driver Binod who drove us safely through the curvy hills. 5.00If you have limited time in Kathmandu and you are looking for a good and challenging hike, this is a great choice. Shishir and Roshan were a great pair of guides, lots of fun to hang out with. I even managed to see some of the mountains sticking out above the clouds, a rare treat at this time of year.
