The tour was super easy to book and we booked directly through the Chilicool website. My husband and I started our tour at 9am where we met Jerry - our friendly and knowledgeable guide for the day and we took a short walk to the local market. Jerry told us about history and culture of Chengdu as well as the local produce and ingredients. We spent around 30 minutes at the local market and I learnt more than I thought I would even as a Chinese person! Afterwards we went to the workshop where we enjoyed some tea and started cooking. We were introduced to Auntie Li who taught us how to cook as Jerry helped to translate. We cooked 5 dishes and we were able to cook efficiently given the kitchen was very organized and our cooking ingredients well prepared. Finally we got to enjoy our dishes with Jerry and had more interesting conversations. Overall we had a really fun time and this was certainly a highlight of our honeymoon! Jerry was a really wonderful guide and hope to see him again the next time we are in Chengdu!

We had an amazing experience with Jerry in Chengdu. He first took us through a local market, where he shared so many interesting stories and insights about daily life, ingredients, and local traditions. It felt very authentic and gave us a real glimpse into the city beyond the usual tourist spots. The cooking class was just as great. Together with a professional chef, Jerry guided us step by step as we learned how to prepare traditional Sichuan dishes. Everything was very hands-on, fun, and easy to follow, even for beginners. Jerry is a fantastic guide - knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely passionate about sharing his culture. We learned a lot, laughed a lot, and left with great memories (and new cooking skills!). Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Chengdu. Thank Jerry!

We had a great cooking class with our guide Lance! He taught us about local ingredients, customs, and food! We made delicious baozi with pork and vegetarian version for the people witg dietary restrictions. I would very much recommend this experience! We cannot wait to make the baozi ourselves at home!

We spent a great afternoon. Lance taught us a lot about Chengdu, Szechuan, the food there. The market visit was great, we got to know new vegetables, various eggs and spices and (healing) herbs. Cooking with Li was fun and we were happy when our dishes tasted like hers. Everything was super organized and super well maintained.

As locals, our translator Lance and teacher Lee were very knowledgeable about Sichuan cuisine. No matter your cooking level, highly recommend this workshop to start off your stay (or end it, like we did) in Chengdu. The pace was great: a market walkthrough to learn more about local ingredients, a relaxed tea break as you get settled, then the cooking class itself. We had an early start time, so when I mentioned not yet eating, Lance was very hospitable and quickly found a vendor selling the local breakfast. Super appreciate of the little touches. Amazing time! Very well organised, guide very interesting and friendly. The market visit was interesting and we could take the time to ask many things, try new ingredients, learn about the Chinese culture and life in Chengdu, learn about the food here and buy some spicy for ourselves as well. The cooking class was very well explained and is suitable for any level of cooking experience because the instructions are very clear. The food si soooooo delicious ! I highly recommend this activity:)

We attended a cooking class in Chengdu and it was honestly such a great experience. It wasn’t just about cooking – our guide first took us around a local market and showed us the surrounding area. We saw so many ingredients I had never seen before, and everything was explained in a really friendly and engaging way. After that, we moved to the kitchen where the chef showed us how to prepare each dish step by step. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, so we felt comfortable getting involved and really enjoyed the whole process. One of the highlights was sitting down with the guide afterwards, having tea and chatting about local culture and traditions. It made the experience feel much more personal and authentic. Overall, we loved it and would definitely do it again. Highly recommended, and thank you so much for such a wonderful experience!

The cooking class and the local market visit has been amazing! We had the chance to visit a local market and choose some of the especial ingredients to cook with Jerry and Aunty Li. We had such a great time and they've been very nice and warm with us.Thank you very much for sharing this experience with us! We will never forget it!
