  I am grateful and honoured to have the opportunity to meet and get my sak yant first tattoo from Ajarn Tu. He did it gently and swiftly.. respect! Thank you to Ms. Mind too, I feel included in the whole process; she brings me to the market to buy offering, brought us coffee and lunch for Khao soi after tattoo session. She's explaining clearly about the Lanna culture, history and about Chiang Mai. Thank you ~

  Guide very kind and extremely available. They pick you up at the hotel and take you to an artists' quarter after visiting a local market to buy gifts. Sak Yant is performed in the home of Ajarn Tu and after lunch is as typical as possible. Unique experience! Recommended!

  From start to finish, Ajarn Tu and Mai were extremely professional and provided us with an authentic Thai traditional Sak Yant experience. Mai was excellent at communicating during the booking and planning process making our arrangements. Mai showed promptly at the hotel pickup point and took us to a local Thai market to purchase offerings for Buddha and Ajarn Tu Talking with Mai was very educational on the beautiful drive to the tattoo shop in the countryside. My wife, my daughter, felt very welcome, safe, and clean through the entire day as we all received Sak Yant from Ajarn Tu. If you want Sak Yant from the “real deal”, this is the place to come when visiting Chiang Mai. We will definitely be back to visit Ajarn and Mai in the near future. Amazing experience!!

  My second tattoo, after 20 years it was time to address my right shoulder and what an experience, the traditional way, bamboo stick, a ceremony and blessing. Had a great day. Can highly recoment to any one that is thinking about having a tattoo.

  Getting my Sak Yant tattoo from Ajarn Tu was an incredibly special experience for me. I was overwhelmed with emotion and couldn’t help but cry tears of happiness. It was deeply enlightening, and I know I’ll hold onto that memory forever. I promised myself I wouldn’t get a tattoo unless it was from Chiangmai, and I’m thrilled that it came true—Ajarn Tu exceeded all my expectations. His blessing made me feel so grateful and protected. You could really feel the sincerity and warmth in his prayers during the ceremony; his faith was palpable. Honestly, saying "thank you" doesn’t even cover it—I wish there were more ways to express my gratitude to Ajarn Tu! Also, my tour guide Mind was fantastic. She took great care of me from the moment she picked me up at my hotel, even stopping at a local market to get offerings for my Sak Yant ceremony and Ajarn Tu. She knows so much about the Sak Yant and the culture of Northern Thailand—she’s passionate about tourism and promoting Chiangmai to visitors like me. I like her so much!   Master Tu and Mind made this experience so special. Something I will never forget. Mind picked me up at my hotel in her lovely car. Mind took the time to explain the local history and shared the information on the tattoo history and process. She explained the Master's history with Sak Yant which was so impressive. We went to the market to purchase an offering and then we drove to the Master's home where he welcomed me and made me feel so comfortable. I was seated comfortably thanks to Mind propping up my arm. Master Tu gave me many breaks to adjust and stretch. The tattoo is beautiful and I'm so grateful for the experience. 💖🙏

  A super fun and valuable experience. With a very nice Sak Yant tattoo as a result. The guide will guide you through everything which starts with a pick-up at the hotel, then the presents for the ajarn master are picked up. Arriving at the location she tells exactly what to do and gives them all the necessary information. The ajarn master is very skilled and lives up to all expectations including all the blessings. Afterwards we had a delicious local meal with the guide. What a super sweet woman that is! If you want a memory for life then you are in the right place!

• My first Sak Yant tattoo

  Near the end of my trip, I learned about Sak Yant tattoos. I have other tattoos, but I loved the idea of having a cultural experience and a "blessed tattoo." I was lucky to find this opportunity, as most Sak Yant tattoos are booked weeks in advance. I was not sure what to expect, but my guide was lovely. The day started with a pick-up at my hotel. We drove to a market to purchase offerings and coffee. We travelled to the Ajarn's home for the tattoo. He was a small man and didn't speak English. We discussed which Sak Yant tattoo I wanted and where I liked it. The guide translated. He performed a ceremony pre- and post-tattoo. The whole tattoo took just under an hour. The guide took pictures of the tattoo, which she provided to me. She then took me out for lunch at one of her favourite spots. We had Khao Soi, which was spicy but good, after which she dropped me off at my hotel to catch my flight. Great experience. I'd do it again.
