  This was an outstanding tour, due to the extensive knowledge and engaging personality of our guide, Eduardo. Fortunately, we wore sturdy shoes with good traction, a must for navigating the ruins.

  Eduardo (the guide) and Julio (the driver) were excellent. Had a great time at the market in Chichicastenango and the Mayan ruins in Iximche. Eduardo is a great guide. Very good English and a wealth of information. He is very considerate of the Mayan culture and very patient with questions. He is also willing to discuss the pros and cons of his country. While the market was fascinating, it was the juxtaposition of the Catholic faith and Mayan beliefs that were most educational. The visit to the cemetery was a highlight. We were fortunate enough to see some ceremonies being performed and Eduardo was there to give context. Iximche is not as well known as Tikal but is worth a visit if you have seen other sites as it is the last Mayan city to be built. It is a very nice setting as well. Overall I would say that this tour was well worth the time. And cannot say enough good things about the staff.

  This was one of the best tours we've ever taken. The market is mesmerizing and, as busy as it is, the atmosphere was still calm and not overwhelming. It's a truly unique experience. Iximche was so beautiful and peaceful. The tour is well timed and never felt rushed. But what really made the day unforgettable was our guide, Carlos. You can tell he is passionate about his work and his country. He is so nice and knowledgeable, he taught us a lot about Guatemalan history, geography, and traditions. We had a great time and I would definitely recommend this tour!

  We absolutely loved our guide, Carlos! He’s totally passionate and his great attitude made the whole trip amazing. Seriously, you can tell he loves his job. Not only is he super enthusiastic and genuinely decent, but he’s also incredibly smart, giving us tons of cool, deep info without being boring. We couldn't recommend him enough!

  This tour shows you the true heart and soul of the Guatemalan people and let's you see what life is like today and what it would have been like more than 2000 years ago. The best part of the tour was the conversations we had with our guide Eduardo. We started out the tour as client and guide but we left the tour feeling more like friends. He had us laughing the ENTIRE time. Through the banter, he taught us so much about Guatemalan culture and patriotism. The care he took of us and the way he tailored the tour to suit our needs was way beyond what we paid for this experience. Our driver Rene was very good and navigated the wet roads and traffic with a friendly demeanor. This tour was by far the most enjoyable and culturally rich that we did on our vacation. It was priceless, and because of Eduardo I learnt so much about Guatemala and I am looking forward to visiting again and seeing some more of the sites with this company.

• Mayan History

  Chichicastenango is a town up in the mountains with lots of Mayan culture and traditions. We were guided by Eduardo, who was an expert in every aspect of the history and traditions, and Iximche Pyramids were a very clear picture of the last vestiges of the Mayan empire.

  We had a great time with our guide Eduardo. We were picked up early in Antigua. Spend half the day at the ChiChi market (couldn’t have navigated this without a guide) and then the second half of the day at Iximche. Eduardo was exceptional. Guided us through the market, was patient while we purchased items, gave extensive explanations of the Catholic Church and the Mayan history, and took us around the cemetery as well. He has an extensive knowledge of Mayan history and culture and was wonderful at the ruins as well. So worth the money for the transport and the guide knowledge. Thank you Eduardo!!!

• Best Guatemalan Tour

  This is our 1st time in Guatemala and we are so, so, happy that I booked this tour. The driver Marlo and the tour guide Eduardo pick us up at the Hotel on a timely manner in a very confortable Van. Thru our way to Chichicastenango, Eduardo provided information to us about the history of every town in a very interesting way. We had a lot of questions and he was always very happy to answer them. He is fully bilingual in Spanish and English, and although the Tour was to be in Spanish, he was able to provide the information to my husband (who is American and does not speak Spanish) in English. My husband was extremely happy and confortable of being in a Spanish speaking country. While Marlo was driving us thru all the towns, which were located thru the mountains, we always felt very secure and comfortable due to his respectful way of driving and knowledge of the areas. The Tour in Chichicastenango was excellent! We went to several markets, where we were able to see so many Mayan Indigenous people with their traditional outfits. Their way of life is a true example of resilience and faith; hard workers with hundred of years of traditions kept. It was an extremely humble experience for us. We went to impressive churches and cementary, which further information about this very interesting culture. After that, we went to have lunch in a very good "BBB" restaurant (bonito, bueno, barato)(beautiful, excellent and great prices). From there, we went to the Mayan Pyramids. Again, Eduardo was such and excellent-fun our guide. So knowledgable and we'll spoken! A pleasure! So much history, including the visit of a USA President to these Pyramids and its impact to the upkeep of the area. We highly recommend this Tour to everyone that visit Antigua. And definitely, we were the luckiest to have Marlo and Eduardo to drive and tour us thru these towns and their history. Priceless! We will always be thankful to both of you!

• An amazing, unique, exciting experience!

  This tour was absolutely amazing! Our tour guide Carlos and driver Marlo arrived right on time to our hotel. The van was spacious and clean. Carlos was very attentive- he allowed us to stop for a cup of coffee on the way to Chichi, as it was an early morning. On the drive to the town, Carlos told us history of every little town that we passed through.. we learned so much even just on the drive! Once you get to Chichi- you will be astonished on how crowded and busy this town is. We arrived at a beautiful hotel where we were able to use the facilities.. Carlos took us into the market, which only happens on Thursdays and Sundays. Just about everything you can think of is sold in this market, vegetables, fruits, candies, clothes, shoes, textiles pottery, everything! The best part is that we were able to witness a church procession. We saw the parade heard the fireworks the smoke the chanting, the decorations. It was such an out of world experience for us. Seeing the beautiful churches and visiting the cemetery worked at top it off amazing. On the way back we stopped at Iximche, where Carlos once again gave us a one on one tour of the archaeological site. We highly recommend this tour. It was our favorite tour of all of the tours we took from Antigua.
