Through authentic storytelling and evocative environments, this experience offers a rare and intimate glimpse into the lives that shaped Chinatown across generations.
More than just history, this is a tribute to the human spirit, culture, and the enduring bonds of community. Perfect for all ages, this journey invites you to see, hear, and feel the heartbeat of a Chinatown that once was – and still lives on in memory.

Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled tour time. Late arrivals will not be accommodated.
All guests, including children, need a paid ticket. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
Re-entry is not allowed.

Chinatown Heritage Centre
Go on an immersive journey through the history of Chinatown, as seen through the eyes of residents’ ages past. Each experience is told through the point-of-view of a “former resident” – a hardworking coolie, a resilient ‘samsui’ woman, or a skilled hawker. Venture through the spaces they once inhabited and communities they thrived in, and hear their stories of struggles, triumphs, and everything in between. These characters offer a unique and personal glimpse of Chinatown, and how their varied lives intertwined – “Under One Roof”.

5.00Fascinating walk back into time. Discover the history of Chinatown and its people in Singapore. The tour takes you through the recreation of a typical residence and workplace. First floor houses the tailor, his shop and family living quarters including kitchen and “bathrooms “. Second floor recreates the cubicles used by others as workspace and home. A family of 10 occupied a room about 3 meters x 3 meters! A doctor and his family had a bigger space. Everyone who lived in that floor shared the kitchen and bathroom. Third floor has history of current residents whose families have been living here for generations. Filled with artifacts and audio video exhibits. Fascinating. Small gift shop but on the way out they have a tea shop e we to milk tea and cakes. Fabulous place tucked away in Chinatown.

5.00Had so much fun reminiscing Old Singapore. Brought back so many fond memories. A must see when you are in the Chinatown area. Your guide, Ah Choo aka TC, was so entertaining and fun to have around with his narration of Old Chinatown.
