Choco-Story, Chocolate Museum
The Choco-Story museum can be found in Bruges, housed in an ancient building dating from the 15th century. The museum occupies 4 stories and recounts the history of cocoa and chocolate. More than 1,000 ancient objects and 80 information boards, explain the story of how chocolate evolved from its origins as a spicy Mayan drink to become the delicious sweet that we all love today. The children’s visit has been specially designed with low information boards and show-cases. The visit will end with a demonstration of how to make Belgian chocolate sweets which can be sampled.

My wife and I have lived our whole life eating chocolate, and yet we never knew where it came from, how it is grown, how it is made, how it is sold, and many other details about one of our favorite foods. When we travel, we love to learn, and this museum taught us so much! Very much recommend. We visited as adults but it appears that there the children liked the child-friendly audio tour, as well. We had a fresh hot cup f cocoa at the end, which was divine. If we had more time, we would have loved to experience the workshop. As it was, we were there for about 90 minutes. It was not crowded and the staff was very friendly. It is located a minute walk away from the main square of Brugges by the Belfry.

Super museum, everything explained very nicely, enough examples, the ladies at the box office are super friendly and helpful. There are not many of these museums. Keep it up.

Great experience the kids loved it. They received an audio device that they scan to listen to interesting information and facts. There are also games to play along the way. Free chocolate at the end as well.

Brilliant time but was quite busy. Good demonstration and plenty of chocolate to try. Good value for money.

Nice for kids. The chocolate you could have tasted at the exit could have been offered nicer (maybe chocolates ? Finally, there are those on every corner in Bruges.).

The museum was interesting, but this is not a premier attraction. The museum was very busy and crowded. We were provided with very old-fashioned audio equipment for the audio guide. The layout of the story was confusing at times. The demonstration at the end of the tour was satisfactory, but done without any enthusiasm. This was the most expensive tourist attraction that we visited during our 3 day trip. We would not return and would recommend other attractions above this one

This was a very expensive museum for what it offered. I would definitely skip if your child is 8 years old or younger - maybe below 13. It’s very dry and boring even for adults. There are cheaply made exhibits and recreations of actual things and a very very dry audio guide. Also the chocolate was old that was provided out and we didn’t realize we would miss the only interesting thing of the chocolate demo which was only hourly that day. Belgium has a lot more interesting options available - I would skip this one.
