Chocolate Bar Making
York is home to some of the world's most famous chocolate bars. Join us in our academy and learn how to create your very own chocolate bar. You will discover our cocoa origins, we will show you how to temper chocolate, and you will experiment with different flavours to perfect your masterpiece! Once the bars have set, you will package your creations to be enjoyed at home.
Who is it suitable for?
Perfect for chocolate lovers of all ages and abilities who want to learn more of the secrets to create their own gorgeous chocolates at home. Please note that we recommend that children under 13 years accompanied by a full paying adult participant
Please note: During this workshop participants are able to work with their own choice of chocolate and ingredients. This workshop is suitable for participants with special dietary requirements, but please do contact our team for any specific needs.

5.00My mum and I had such a great hour making our chocolate bars. Our guide was wonderful, wish I’d caught her name. She knew so much about chocolate making and its origins, and was great fun, too. We now know the correct way to melt chocolate. Clue! Stay away from the microwave! We left with our very chunky chocolate bars: a Yorkshire rose and Christmas tree, uniquely flavoured with our personal choices of flavourings. I can’t tell you how they tasted as you pick them up once set, in a sealed plastic gift bag which is now waiting for Christmas. Definitely recommended for a fun and educational way to spend an hour in York.

5.00Staff shared good knowledge about the process and taught us how the cocoa bean ends up on the shelf as chocolate. Good experience to to with friends/family/partner, and we made our own chocolate bars and got to personalise them!
Something different to do highly recommended for family experience and a lovely reward at the end thumbs up 👍👍👍👍👍👍

5.00You get to learn about the cocoa bean and where the company gets theirs from. You get to understand more about how chocolate is made. Making the chocolate was an eye opener on how to do this and the taste of the chocolate was amazing. I would highly recommend this activity when visiting York.

4.00Very enjoyable but difficult to see the presenter due to being at the back of a very full class. However the whole experience was enjoyed by all the family young and old. The presenter was excellent and made a point of including us at the very back.
Expensive so get a York pass to see other attractions too.
